Story
Meet Mufasa, a 120 pound Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix who is around four years old. Mufasa has paws the size of the lion he is named after, you have to see him in person to believe how big he is! We don't know much about Mufasa before he came to us but we do know he came in with an embedded collar leaving a gnarly wound on his neck. We don't believe life has been too kind to Mufasa based on his injury and demeanor. He isn't very sure of people and often standoffish, especially when you first meet him. You can win over this giant with some treats, a gentle approach and soft words. He needs someone who will go slow with him and a quieter home is probably best. Mufasa walks well on a leash and is looking for a home with some understanding to lay his massive head. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Sunday, that's right we are open all days of the week! A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
