Story
Welcome Oliver to CCPAL Rescue. Oliver is an 11-month old Norfolk Terrier mix. He is about 12 pounds and is a small dog with a scruffy and wire-haired coat. He is a lower shedding dog and would make a great walking companion. He is confident, social, outgoing, affectionate and adorable. He can sit up on his bum for a treat and looks really cute. He is good with other dogs and snuggly when you pick him up. He isn’t clingy but does like to be with his favorite humans. He would be great for someone wanting a walking companion that has a coat that isn’t too much shedding and easy to care for. He is in the puppy play group with girls, boys and dogs bigger and older than him. I would think his breed would love to chase squirrels out of the yard. He is good in his kennel and not overly vocal. He is getting his vaccines and will be neutered and ready for his forever home soon. He is adorable. He would be fine as a family dog with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is fine with baths and nail trims. He is learning leash manners. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. He’s intelligent, affectionate, and loves being close to his people. Nugget happily greets new faces and enjoys being part of daily life—whether that’s household chores, errands, or relaxing together. Good with dogs: Yes  Resource guarding: No  Barking: Alert barker; may bark when left alone  Kids: Yes, older children preferred  Cats: No (strong small-prey drive)  Shedding: Minimal (regular brushing recommended)  Energy level: Medium  Nugget is a fully indoor dog and naturally alert, as many small breeds are, but he truly thrives on companionship and bonding with his person. Training & Habits ‍ Leash trained: Yes  Car rides: Yes  Potty trained: Adjusts well to new home routines (currently living in a foster home)  Crate trained: Yes, for travel only (not airline carry-on size)  As with any dog, maintaining a consistent daily routine will help ensure continued potty-training success. Home Life When alone: Nugget does not enjoy being left alone and can become anxious and vocal. He will do best with someone who is home most of the time or in a home with another friendly dog for companionship.  Sleeping: Sleeps indoors on a dog bed and prefers being close to people. Ideal Home Nugget is more than just a pet—he’s a devoted companion ready to fill your home with love, joy, and warmth. Because he values companionship so deeply, his ideal home is one where he isn’t left alone for long periods. A homebody adopter, remote worker, or family with another friendly dog would be a wonderful match. Adopting Nugget means gaining a loyal best friend who will love you unconditionally every single day. Rescue Story Nugget’s rescue story is one of patience, kindness, and perfect timing. He was first spotted near a health clinic, following a man and a young girl who believed he belonged to someone else. When it became clear he was alone, Nugget disappeared into the crowd. Days later, his rescuer spotted him again in the same area. This time, she approached slowly, offering food and patience. Trust was built, and that moment marked the beginning of Nugget’s journey to safety. Over the past month, he has learned what love, consistency, and care feel like—and now he’s ready for a forever home of his own. Location: Mexico (waiting for a 10-day trial commitment) Adoption Fee: $600 Apply: www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2627920##
