Isabeau is a 14-year-young Papillon with a gentle soul, a prancing strut, and plenty of pep left in her step. She came into rescue after her beloved mom passed away, and she’s now looking for a soft place to land where she can be cherished for her golden years. Izzy is a true companion dog—she loves to follow her person from room to room and be close to you at all times. She doesn’t jump but will whine to let you know she’d like to be picked up. She’s not a fan of stairs and prefers to be carried outside, but she is potty pad trained and does great with that setup. She’s not into crates but does just fine relaxing on her bed when left unattended—especially if it’s a cozy bed with raised sides or a spot where she can keep her head elevated. Izzy gets along well with other dogs and likes to snuggle up with others to nap. Mealtime is one of her favorite events of the day, and she’ll proudly bark to remind you it’s time to eat. Izzy only has a few teeth, so she enjoys wet food served on a paper plate or dry kibble sprinkled with water. Her bark—and occasional cough—sounds a bit like a duck due to a collapsed trachea, which is common in small senior dogs and something her future family should be aware of. Despite her age, Izzy still loves to prance around the house and show off her sweet little personality. She’s affectionate, endearing, and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, low-key best friend. Meet Arty 3 Years Old • ~5 lbs • Papillon Mix Arty is a tiny Papillon mix with a gentle heart who is looking for a very specific kind of home — one that is calm, patient, and understanding of a nervous little dog who is still learning that the world is safe. Arty is extremely sweet and affectionate once he trusts you. His favorite place is in your arms, and he truly loves being held. He enjoys belly rubs, quiet companionship, and happily sleeps at the foot of the bed at night. Arty is also exceptionally quiet — he has only barked one time in an entire week in foster care. Arty’s ideal home is a low-traffic, adult-only environment. Small children make him nervous, and he would not be comfortable in a busy or unpredictable household. This little guy is still working on basic skills, and his adopter will need to be prepared for that: Arty is not fully potty trained yet He is improving with going outside, but he also does well with potty pads He is not leash trained and does not enjoy being taken out and about Arty is not a candidate for crating — confinement causes him significant fear and shaking Because of this, Arty would do best with someone who wants a quiet companion dog and does not need a pet that goes on outings, walks, or adventures. He may be a wonderful fit for an apartment home with a patient adopter who can continue gentle potty training at his pace. Arty does fine around cats and doesn’t seem to care about them at all. He may be timid at first, but with kindness and consistency, Arty becomes an incredibly lovable little shadow who just wants to feel safe and loved. If you’re looking for a small, calm, stay-at-home companion and have the time to help a nervous Papillon mix feel secure, Arty may be the perfect match.
