Jake is 7-1/2 years old, I got him from the Humane Society about 4 years ago. When I got him I knew he came from a troubled home. I have been able to work with him, however he is protective of me mostly and he does not really get a long with other people, mostly male. He tends to be the type of dog that has his person and he does not care for anyone else. I have a new baby in the house and having to always lock the dog away is not fair. Also, it’s yet another Jake’s reserve self would rather not deal with, he doesn’t like to be bothered, he likes to be chill when we are not walking. I would rather find a home for him as overall I think he is a great companion dog. He is still a bit jumpy to loud noises and if you move too fast around him. He needs a home preferable where he is the only dog and does not have a lot of people coming around all the time.

His personality is big and goofy in the cutest way. He loves sitting in window seals like a tiny cat, watching the world go by. His short little legs, tiny size, and silly habits make him impossible not to smile at. He’s truly one of those dogs that just steals your heart without trying. Tommy sees kids regularly at his foster’s apartment complex and does great with them — he happily accepts pets and attention and clearly enjoys their love. Because of this, we believe he would do well in a home with kids. He currently lives in an apartment and does great, but he would also do well in a house. Most importantly, Tommy would thrive with someone who is home often or loves taking their dog along for daily adventures. He’s happiest when he’s near his person and part of everything they do.
