True to her name, she adds a little sweetness and happiness to every moment. With her curious eyes, playful wiggles, and gentle affection, Sprinkles is the kind of puppy who instantly makes people smile. Personality Sprinkles is playful, affectionate, and wonderfully curious about the world. She loves exploring new spaces, learning through play, and then curling up for cozy naps once she’s tuckered out. She’s people-focused and enjoys gentle attention, reassurance, and being included in daily life. As a young puppy, her personality will continue to grow and blossom with patience, structure, and love. Breed Info: Terrier Mix Terrier mixes are known for: Lively, cheerful personalities Intelligence and eagerness to learn Strong bonds with their families Playful energy balanced with affection Thriving with routine and positive reinforcement Sprinkles is expected to remain on the smaller side but will still benefit from mental stimulation and engagement as she grows. Owner Responsibilities (Especially for Puppies!) As a young puppy, Sprinkles will need: Consistent house-training and gentle guidance Supervision to keep her safe as she explores Daily play, enrichment, and socialization A predictable routine for meals, sleep, and potty breaks Patience during teething, chewing, and learning boundaries Puppies require time, presence, and commitment — Sprinkles is counting on her future family to help shape her into a confident, happy adult dog. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before Adopting Before adopting Sprinkles, please carefully consider: Do you have time for frequent potty breaks and training? Is your home puppy-proofed and safe for a small dog? Are pets allowed where you live, now and long-term? Are you prepared for vet care, food, supplies, and training? Puppies grow, change, and need guidance — adoption is a lifetime promise Vet Care Even though Sprinkles is healthy, adopters should schedule a visit with their own veterinarian as soon as possible after adoption to establish care and support her healthy growth and development. The 3-3-3 Rule First 3 days: Sprinkles may feel overwhelmed — gentle reassurance and patience are essential. First 3 weeks: She’ll begin learning your routine, feeling safe, and building confidence. First 3 months: Trust deepens, her personality shines, and she’ll truly understand she is home. This adjustment period is especially important for puppies learning the world. Why Sprinkles Will Be a Wonderful Addition Sprinkles is pure puppy magic — sweet, playful, and full of potential. With love, consistency, and commitment, she will grow into a loyal companion who brings joy, laughter, and warmth to your life every day. This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post. For more information, please contact Tyler at tlawson916@gmail.com or call (916) 759-6582 Meet Penny! Penny has a very sweet and friendly personality and gets along with all dogs, animals, kids, and people. She loves cuddling, sunbathing, naps, treats, and going on walks/hikes. She did have her back left leg amputated when she was a puppy due to an accident (shelter was unsure what happened), but that does not affect her much. She keeps up with her Australian Shepherd and Belgian Malinois cousins just fine on hikes and running at the park. She would love a home that gives her attention/love, takes her on walks/hikes/adventures, and lets her relax afterwards with some sunbathing and treats.January 22, 2026, 3:30 pm

Story
I'm Winter. Here I am, in the winter, having a litter of puppies. I''ve been a good little momma and I'll have my puppies weaned by February 7. About a week later, I'll be ready for a place of my own. I'm loyal and eager to snuggle in with a special someone.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2602912##
