Story
Hazel was found on the streets of Texas fighting off a deadly tick disease and trying to survive. Scared of everything, she didn’t trust her rescuer to save her so she had to be trapped Luckily after being trapped she realized she was amongst good humans and felt safe enough to be a regular dog again! Now that she's healthy, Hazel is ready to make her way to the good life in Colorado! Hazel is hoping to hop on the PJ in San Antonio, destined for Colorado, at the end of the month or beginning of October, just in time for spooky season! She needs a committed foster or adopter to be eligible- won't you treat her to a fall season and welcome her to your Colorado home? ##2187008##

Story
Bug is a 1 year old Rat Terrier weighing about 12lbs.  Bug came to us after being found as a stray about 9 months ago in New Mexico.  Nobody came for her and she was set for euthanasia at an overwhelmed shelter.   When Bug came to us we took her to get fixed as we do with every pup before adoption.  The clinic vet identified a murmur in Bugs heart and recommended getting it checked before putting her under.  Our Cardiologist discovered that Bug has a birth defect in her heart.  We have also started to realize that she may have a little bit of neuro irregularities.  She is a unique, adorable little girl to say the least.  Right now there is not much that can be done other than some daily meds she is on.  She is the sweetest girl in the whole world and this heart defect has turned everybody away from giving her a forever family.  She loves to play and snuggle up as close as possible with her foster dad.  Bug's future is uncertain right now.  She may live a looooong happy life, or her life may be cut short due to her heart.  There is no way to tell.  What we do know is that despite Bug being different she deserves all the love and a forever family of her own just like every dog does. If you are interested in adopting this sweetk girl, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2140685##

Story
Ive is a very sweet little girl who will bond quickly and follow you everywhere you go! She is very active but loves to sleep a lot as well. She is great about using the doggy door at her foster home and appears to be completely housebroken. She gets along great with other dogs and everyone she's met, but we haven't tested her with cats (we think she'd be fine). We have taken care of all of her medical needs and all she wants is a soft place to land for the rest of her life. Note: her actual age is unknown as she was transferred from a shelter to our rescue - and was left in the "drop box" at the shelter with no information. She could be 10-12 years.

Story
Posed so perfectly for the camera, regal 2-year-old Rita looks every inch a lady! At an elegant 18 pounds, this white and brown beauty is an endearing blend of energetic and easygoing, as content to romp around with other dogs of all sizes as she is to relax beside her foster mom for much of the day. Sweet yet somewhat shy, Rita loves snuggling and cuddling with her foster mom, resting her head on her, showing her paw for affection and then dancing and prancing about. Not only does she LOVE children, she loves chewing on bones large and small, playing with toys, especially a small mouse toy, going for walks and taking rides in the car. Motivated by food and love, Rita currently knows “come,” “sit,” “down,” “no,” and “leave it,” is leash trained, never crated and almost fully house-trained to use a doggy door. Now Rita would relish the chance to find an active and affectionate family that will complete her training, including her commands, and keep her happy fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
I got Poppy at 8 weeks old from a family friend who had a surprise litter. I love her dearly and she is the spunkiest, funniest little dog. Shes my first ever dog that was completely mine and not a family pet. But Poppy developed epilepsy at just over a year old. Shes 2 now. The cost of her medication and medical bills has put me into financial hardship and I simply cannot afford to keep her anymore. Especially since medication doesnt seems to be working very well and the constant trips to the vet to reevaluate her medication is both time consuming and money draining. She has seizures every 2 weeks. She needs someone who is financially stable enough to care for her, and a household where someone is often home in case she has an episode and needs rescue medication. She loves to play fetch, loves walks, kids, cats, other dogs, and loves to chew on ehr toys. She loves people but she loves other animals more, so I know she would adjust well to not having me around.
