Hi, my name is Nina! I’m a 1-year-old, 10 lb Pekingese/Tibetan mix girl, and I came to FCCR from a local shelter looking for a fresh start. I can’t explain what I have been through but I can tell you the world - especially humans - is big and scary to me. I am a sweet and playful girl who is trying to be brave…I just need a special human willing to show me that humans can be kind so that I can build up my trust in people and help me come out of my shell. I promise you will love me! I get along with other dogs great and honestly, I would do best with a resident dog by my side who can show me the ropes and help me navigate this whole “being a dog” thing! A gentle canine mentor/playmate is really a must for me — it makes such a difference having a furry friend to play with, follow and learn from. Because I’m still working on my confidence with people, I need a very patient, gentle family who understands that trust takes time. No young children please since loud noises and sudden movements startle me ---truthfully a quiet home is what I most desire! I haven’t figured out leash walking yet, so a secured fenced backyard is a must for my safety. My house manners are a work in progress, but I am a very smart girl and am taking to piddle pads really quickly— I used them before! With the right home, some patience, and lots of love, I have a feeling I’m going to blossom into something truly special. Let’s write the next great love story together. Hi there, I’m Mochi! I’m a 2.5-year-old Pekingese girl with 14 pounds of pure sweetness and just the right amount of sass — because that’s kind of our thing. I am very affectionate with the people I love, and I bring the playful energy to match. I even pick up my own leash when I’m ready for a walk — yes, really. I’ll let you know when it’s time. After our stroll, I love heading into the yard to run around and play with my toys. Life is good when you have a cozy home and a yard to zoom around in! A nap on a comfy couch afterwards caps a perfect day. I’m fully housebroken, have a great house manners, and a total pro in the car, so road trips? I’m in. I’ve been living as an only dog, but I might be able to share my space with another dog as long as they respect my personal bubble. I’m confident, not complicated. I’ve lived with children before and we just weren’t the best match, so I’m looking for a forever home without kids — a calm, grown-up space where I can truly shine. If you’re looking for a sweet, spirited girl who will love you fiercely and always be ready for an adventure, I just might be your perfect match. Hi, I’m Little Marco! I’m a stunning 2 year old Pekingese boy, and 13.5 lbs of sweet and spicy. The past year has been rough and I’m unsure of people when I first meet them. It takes me a little time (about 2 days or so) to warm up but once I do, I am ALL in. We’re talking cuddles, kisses (but on my terms - I'm a peke after all!), and following you everywhere. My foster mom can confirm that I am a perfect combination of clown, lover boy, and drama king. I’m a funny little soul, especially once I relax and know I'm safe. I’ll rub on you like a cat and prance down the street like I own it. Right now I sleep in a bed next to my foster Mom but I would love to be in the big bed with you at the end of the day. I love my toys, take treats like a gentleman, and I just want to be wherever my people are. I would do best with someone who knows the Pekingese personality — a little stubborn, highly opinionated, endlessly loyal, and worth every bit of patience. No cats, no kids, and I’m not a fan of big dogs…small dogs are fine with me as long as everyone respects my space it's all good! I'm quite fond of my foster mom's lady peke…but then again why would you want another dog when you have ME?! I have good house manners but may need a refresher when I get to my new home and a consistent potty schedule. I would prefer someone who is home a lot or can bring me along for the ride, walk, whatever - I really don’t like to be alone and love being with my person(s).
