Story
Little Lioness!MEET LITTLE BIRD!  This cutie pahtootie is thought to be about 7 years old and weighs only 12 pounds. Originally a stray, Little Bird was brought to the terrifying shelter. After a failed adoption attempt that ended up with a minor bite to a human and a 10-day quarantine for her, LIttle Bird found herself in a loving Tara’s House foster home where she is being given the proper time to decompress, get comfortable and have her true personality come out. She is not only thriving there, she learned how to read and write – so she is going to pen the rest of her own bio. Take it from here, Little Bird!  “I’m a curious girl who loves following my favorite humans around. I’m happy to stay quietly by your side, keep you company, and be part of whatever you’re doing. I enjoy exploring, going on little neighborhood adventures, and taking walks to sniff all the interesting things around me. I also have playful moments and love to run around at home once I feel comfortable.  I do best in a calm environment. I’m sweet and affectionate, but I also appreciate having my boundaries respected when things feel overwhelming, so patience and a gentle approach go a long way with me. My story started on the side of a road, hiding under bushes so my early life is a mystery. I’ve already started warming up to my foster family in just a few days, from being scared and guarded to seeking affection, showing curiosity, and learning to feel safe around people. I’m still unfolding, but every day my personality shines a little more.  I can be spooked by people who don’t know how to take it slow with me so a home with kids over 16 or adults would be the best fit for me. I do fine with other respectful doggies and I think I’d like to meet a nice kitty. If you’re looking for a quiet, loyal companion who will warm up to you in her own sweet time — I might just be your girl.”  Little Bird’s adoption donation fee is $450, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for her by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.May 29, 2026, 2:18 pm

Story
Hi! This is Bella Storm. We have been together since she was 6 months old and she is now 10 years and 2 months old . I gave her away 2 to 3 times and everyone gave her back due to busy lives or not being able to have pets. I said this time around I would keep her until God calls her home. I got another Dog (toy poodle named Sage) and that helped her loneliness as I work so much. She has gotten use to her and protects her. I would love for them to be rehoused together. Sage is 2. But unfortunately I just had a new born that’s now 7 months and a child on the spectrum and my hands are full being an entrepreneur with no help. It really sadden me to make this listing but I’m burnt out & don’t think it’s fair that they suffer. She needs a home body or someone who doesn’t mind her on their car rides which she loves. She very cuddly, rarely bark unless alerted by something, very loving and loves attention. She welled trained to. Prefer no children since she is a senior. She needs tender care.

Story
📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. ●Rescue Story Jjajang was rescued from the euthanasia list at Jeongeup City Shelter. Thanks to timely intervention, he was given a second chance at life and moved into a foster home, where he has been able to decompress and show his true, gentle personality. ●Temperament & Behavior Jjajang is a calm and sensitive dog who prefers a peaceful environment. He does not enjoy overly energetic or pushy dogs, regardless of their size. He may be able to coexist with another dog who has low energy or shows little interest in him, but he may be happiest as the only dog in the home. When he feels bothered, he communicates clearly by giving a soft growl as a “please stop” signal. His compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. With people, Jjajang is initially cautious. Sudden approaches or reaching out to touch him can be scary for him. However, if someone sits calmly nearby, he will often approach on his own and quietly ask for affection with gentle eye contact. ●Walking & Daily Life At first, Jjajang appeared timid on walks, but with consistent leash training, he now walks nicely beside his handler and matches their pace well. If startled, he may briefly crouch, but sitting down and softly calling his name helps him recover quickly. He loves sniffing during walks and is not food-driven outdoors. He navigates stairs well and is not significantly bothered by traffic noise. His shedding level is moderate, around 5 out of 10. He has no food allergies and is not a picky eater. ●Habits & Training Jjajang uses indoor pee pads reliably (100%) and also goes potty outdoors about 50% of the time. He accepts baths and brushing calmly without resistance. He does not have separation anxiety and is comfortable spending time alone. He is not a barker and remains quiet in the home. He rides well in the car and does not appear to experience motion sickness. ●Likes & Personality Jjajang is not particularly interested in toys and prefers quiet time resting on his own rather than high-energy play. He is easily startled by sudden approaches but becomes very affectionate once trust is built. He is currently living in a foster home. 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Story
Location: Abingdon, MD Hi there! I'm Ella, a 7-year-old sandy Shih Tzu-Bichon ☺️. At just 10 pounds, I'm the perfect petite companion, and I get along wonderfully with other dogs 🐾 I'm ready to find my forever home where I can shower you with love and cuddles. My adoption fee is $275 — come meet me and see what you've been missing! 💕 This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.
