Story
Bowie Bichon Frise Male White 4 years old 17 lbs Meet Bowie: Bowie is a sweet, affectionate little guy looking for a calm, adult home where he can feel safe and loved. He’s a devoted companion who enjoys being close to his person, happily following you around the house and settling in for cuddles, belly rubs, and gentle body massages. He’s especially comfortable with women and thrives in a quiet, predictable environment. Bowie can be unsure when meeting new people or encountering unfamiliar things, but he usually relaxes after a few minutes. He responds well to calm voices, slow movements, and steady routines. With gentle encouragement and time to warm up at his own pace, he blossoms and shows his loving nature. He would likely do best if he were the only animal in the home, and he is a great little watchdog who enjoys keeping an eye on the neighborhood. Bowie enjoys chewing on sturdy dog toys (no plush or fabric items) and benefits from a dog-proofed space for both day and night. He’s housetrained, neutered, doesn’t shed, and is content sleeping in the same room as his person. Bowie loves his meals, treats, and outdoor adventures. He’s enthusiastic about walks and could use some leash training. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants to stay close and feel secure, Bowie may be the perfect match. Please Note: **No children under 10!** If you are interested in adopting BOWIE, please visit our website at www.somersetcottagepoodlerescue.org to learn about our adoption process and download the adoption application. BOWIE's adoption donation is $895

Story
🐾 Meet Gureum🐾 📍 Current location: South Korea ❤ Age: about 6-7 years old ❤ Gender: n. male ❤ Weight: 11 kg ❤ Breed: Bichon frise ❤ Health: Fully vaccinated, Overall healthy 🐶 Personality & Behavior 💖 People-friendly – Loves people and is very affectionate 💖 Kid-friendly – indifferent to kids 💖 Dog-friendly – he gets along well with other dogs, especially smaller dogs or the same size dogs. He doesnt like large jindo or large jindo mix breeds, bcz he was often attacked by stray jindos. 💖 Cat-friendly –no issues, not very interested for them (video attached) ✅ Toilet-trained: prefers Outdoors and using peepads indoors ✅ Leash manners: Enjoys walks and matches your pace. ✅ Energy level: Usually he is very calm. He shows big excitement, when going for walks and when seeing you get home. ✅ Handling: Comfortable with touch and bathing ✅ Escape instinct: no ✅ Prey drive: no ✅ Guarding tendency: He likes balls and is sometimes obsessed with them ✅ Crate trained: Currently in training ✅ Barking: He barely barks at noises outside ✅ Separationsanxiety: None so far 💔 Rescue Story He was abandoned by his pervious owner in a farm due to the marriage issue, her husband didn't want to keep the dog. As we found him, his hinterquaters were covered in countless bite wounds from repeated attacks by other straydogs. ‼️ Special notes He is protective of his owner and will lunge at strangers, especially men, while barking. But he is not very strong, is easy to handle and controll. He responds well to a light leash correction and will usually stop the behavior. However we believe that he'd do the best with an adopter who has prior experience with dogs.

Story
Current Location: Nottingham, MD Meet Fred 💛 Fred is a tender, young Shih Tzu mix who is learning what life can be like when it’s safe, quiet, and kind. He came from a hoarding situation, so the world is still a very big and sometimes scary place—but every day, Fred shows small, brave signs of trust that speak volumes about the loving dog he’s becoming. He’s not ready for hands yet, and sudden movements send him scurrying for cover, but if you sit quietly or go about your day, Fred may sneak close, sniff curiously, and—if he’s feeling extra courageous—offer a quick lick before retreating again. Those tiny moments are huge victories for a dog who has learned that survival sometimes means staying invisible. What truly makes Fred shine is his love for other dogs. He bonded quickly and deeply with his calm, patient foster brother Guinness, who has become his emotional anchor and favorite companion. Fred feels safest with a steady canine friend by his side and will need a similar dog in his future home to help him build confidence. With the right buddy, Fred shows glimpses of joy—howling in protest when separated, scattering toys and chews around the house, stealing socks, and getting the “rips” as he dashes around trying to spark a game of chase. While higher‑energy dogs still feel overwhelming, his curiosity is growing, and he’s watching the world a little more closely every day. Fred is still very much a work in progress and will need a patient, dog‑savvy home committed to moving at his pace. He’s a flight risk and not ready for outdoor adventures yet, and grooming and handling will take time and trust. He’s learning to use potty pads again, loves toys and natural chews, and rewards kindness with quiet companionship and gentle glances from across the room. Fred may not be the dog who runs up for cuddles—but for the right person, earning his trust will be an incredibly meaningful journey. If you believe love can be measured in small steps and soft victories, Fred just might be your kind of dog. 🐾
