[The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Archie is a delightful young dog who was active and engaged throughout his assessment. Outside, he stayed close by and walked well on a leash. When we moved indoors, he would occasionally wander off but consistently returned when called. He sought ongoing interaction, enjoying handling and indicating a desire to continue even when I stopped. Although he seemed confused during playtime and was unsure how to play or interact, he was willing to follow my lead. Despite not knowing any commands, he demonstrated good stability and recovery around everyday objects and sudden noises. He enjoyed meeting new people but was initially hesitant to engage with another dog.
