Gypsy has specific needs and will thrive best in a home that matches her calm and gentle nature, so applications will be considered based on how well those needs are met. Meet Gypsy: This sensitive girl who feels most comfortable in quiet, predictable environments. Gypsy does best in a peaceful home with adults only and prefers low activity levels and minimal stimulation. Gypsy observes the world quietly and enjoys companionship that is calm and respectful rather than hands-on. She is very laid back and not particularly playful, finding joy instead in soft beds, quiet corners, and simply sharing space. Gypsy is not a cuddler, but she appreciates a gentle presence nearby. She is happiest as the only pet, though she may do well with one calm, respectful cat over six years old who understands and honors her need for space. Homes with dogs are not a good fit.  Gypsy can be cautious with new people and situations and will need time to feel safe in her new home. With patience and understanding, she slowly builds trust, and once she does, her gentle presence is incredibly rewarding. Her beautiful heterochromia—two different colored eyes—adds to her unique and delicate charm. Gypsy is looking for a patient, emotionally attuned adopter who values quiet companionship and is willing to let a bond develop naturally and at her pace. If your home is calm and your heart is patient, Gypsy may be a wonderful match for you. Applicants must live within a two-hour drive of Chicago. About Me : This gorgeous cat with long fur and big, expressive green eyes will quickly steal your heart. Baby is looking for a very special, understanding home. She is quite shy at first and will need time and patience to feel safe in a new environment. Once she trusts you, her sweet side shines, she has a favorite female volunteer and begins purring almost immediately when gently pet, showing just how loving she can be with someone she feels comfortable with. She does seem to prefer women over men, so we believe she would do best bonding with a female adopter. Because of her sensitive nature, she needs a calm, quiet home without children. She is okay with other cats, but her experience with dogs is unknown. She previously lived with an older owner who could no longer care for her, and unfortunately her family felt she was too shy for their household. We know that with the right person, someone patient, gentle, and willing to let her set the pace—she will make a deeply rewarding companion. Turbo     (White and Gray) Birthday: 3/15/15 Sex: Neutered Male  Breed: Domestic Longhair Fee: $150. Our cats come vet checked, spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and negative for FIV/FELV! Traits: Good with adults and older respectful kids, May tolerate another calm cat with slow, proper introductions, but likely happiest as the only pet Current Diet: Mostly canned food in a variety of brands and flavors (he’s a big fan of Dave’s pate!) Measured feedings only, free feeding is not recommended About Me : Turbo was taken in by a local animal hospital after he was found as a stray. The animal hospital tried to find him a home but after a period of no luck in finding him a home, they reached out and asked if we could take him in. Turbo was scared at first, but quickly warmed up to people once he felt safe. Turbo takes time to adjust to new environments but once he is comfortable he is very sweet! He loves to be pet and cuddled! Turbo is a big cat. We do not know his genetics, but he is larger than most average house cats. He previously lived in a foster home with other cats, dogs, and children. While he tolerated the environment, he would sometimes get nippy or upset when overwhelmed. Because of this, we believe he will thrive in a quiet, low-stress home without young kids. A home where he can truly relax and feel secure.
