Meet Roshan. Roshan is a 2-year-old Persian who is looking for a very special home with an experienced and patient adopter. He came to us with several other Persians who had very little socialization, and as a result, Roshan takes time to build trust and feel comfortable around new people. Potential adopters should expect to make several visits before bringing Roshan home. Building a relationship with him is essential, and he deserves an adopter who understands that trust cannot be rushed. While he may be reserved at first, we've learned that food is the key to Roshan's heart. Once he begins to feel safe, his playful personality emerges, and he enjoys gentle affection on his own terms. He likes being petted, but he'll let you know when he's had enough by simply walking away. As a Persian, Roshan requires regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and comfortable. Based on our experience, grooming has been best managed through a veterinary office, and his future adopter should be prepared for the time and expense that comes with maintaining his coat. Roshan isn't the type of cat who will instantly settle into a new home, but for someone willing to invest the time, patience, and understanding he needs, the reward will be earning the trust of a truly special cat. Meet Pierce! Pierce is a handsome 3-4 year-old gentleman with a heart full of love and the sweetest raspy meow you've ever heard. His story before coming to us is a mystery, but we know he was looking for help when he appeared at a managed community cat colony in Spring Hill Acres, along the Lancaster-Lebanon County border. Since joining our care, Pierce has received a dental procedure and has been neutered. He is also FIV-positive, but don't let that discourage you—cats with FIV can live long, happy, healthy lives with proper care and regular veterinary checkups. Pierce is a people-loving cat who enjoys attention and absolutely adores being brushed. He has so much affection to give and would love nothing more than a cozy home where he can spend his days soaking up love from his favorite humans. While Pierce can coexist with other cats, they aren't really his preference. Because he was only recently neutered, he may need some time for his hormones to settle and to become less concerned about other male cats sharing his space. He would thrive as the only cat in the home, though he may also do well with a young cat or a confident, non-submissive adult feline companion. He doesn't seem bothered by dogs and can comfortably share space with canine friends.
