 ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     Purrfect Pair: Shadow and Flower are arriving Feb 26 from Saudi Arabia!Flower (aka Warda in Arabic meaning flower) is a 1y female Purrsian mix, very good with other cats but she must go home with Shadow--shadow and flower are boyfriend girlfriend They are in looooove so if anyone wanted a pair they are set for it. They really love each other. He protects her and she feels safe with him. Both are cuddly and playful but shadow is more confident. . She is very friendly, cuddly and playful.  Herstory: abandoned as a skinny kitten with severe dehydration. I named her Warda/flower, because she carries the same quiet beauty and softness of a flower. She’s gentle, calm and effortlessly brings a sense of peace wherever she goes. Just like a flower brightens a space without asking for attention, Flower's presence is tender, comforting, and full of warmth.Shadow is a 3.5y Maine Coon mix who is literally a shadow cat (meaning he is your shadow:)!History: abandoned, I left him some food, but he followed me to my car--hence the name. I found him an adopter who returned him due to accommodation restrictions but when I picked him up, I discovered he was not cared for as agreed. He was kept in a small room with small litter tray. She told me he didn’t like to play and his hair was very matted. I took him to the second adopter who promised to care for him only to return him after few days because her cat hissed once at him so I took him back. He is like a big kitten. Gentle, cuddly and playful! He is very bonded to Flower and must be adopted with her. After treatment he spent days sleeping in bed which was heartbreaking because we felt he waited to be safe again for too long. He is a super gentle and kind soul. He is great with other cats and children. Being a friendly house cat, he didn’t realize that they wanted to kick him which was a devastating thing to witness. I immediately took him in. He loves to play. I think he has a kitten spirit. Some of the cats are bothered by his energy so he is best suited with a cat that matches his energy. Meet Sydney ✨ Sydney is a gorgeous long-haired dilute calico with the softest fur, the sweetest face, and a personality to match. Around 2–2.5 years old, she is equal parts silly, playful, and full of love—the kind of cat who happily greets everyone she meets and quickly becomes unforgettable. Sydney knows what it’s like to be loved. She was previously adopted and thrived in her home, adored her human, and even enjoyed the company of her feline sibling. Sadly, when her owner began packing for a move, the sudden change was overwhelming for Sydney. She started peeing outside the litter box and was returned to the shelter soon after. Understandably, her little heart was broken 💔. Because Sydney matters, the shelter team left no stone unturned. She received a full veterinary workup, including medication trials, food trials, multiple urinalyses, and an ultrasound. While she has had some intermittent blood in her urine, all tests have shown her to be otherwise completely healthy, and veterinarians believe her condition is idiopathic—often linked to stress. The good news? Once back in a stable environment, Sydney bounced right back. She has been using the litter box 100% of the time at the shelter, just as she did during the first several months in her previous home. Her sweet, outgoing personality shines through every single day. Sydney is looking for a calm, stable forever home—one where life is predictable and changes are minimal. She would do best with an understanding family who can support her if she ever has a flare-up and help her get back on track.
