Story
Elwood and Toesies are brother cats, though they may not be biological siblings. Their noticeable size difference makes that part of their story a bit of a question mark. It’s very easy to guess where Toesies got his name. He’s a polydactyl kitty with extra toes that make his paws especially charming. Right now, he’s feeling a little sad as he adjusts, but he’s a true gentle giant who just needs time and kindness to feel safe.Elwood is the more outgoing of the two. He sports a handsome gray coat and a perfectly normal number of toes, and he’s ready to greet the world with confidence. These two are sweet boys who would love a home that gives them patience, comfort, and the chance to settle in and show who they really are. This cat attends Saturday adoption events (10 AM to 2:30 PM) and Sunday Adoption Events (12pm to 3pm) at our Verona Adoption Center, and can also be adopted during the week by appointment for approved adopters.READY TO ADOPT? Story
Meet Marie, Stella, and Arabella — three beautiful cats who are ready to leave their past behind and begin a new chapter in loving homes. These cats came from a heartbreaking situation in western Wisconsin, where 98 cats were rescued from a single home. Life before rescue was not easy, and they are still healing both physically and emotionally. It’s normal for them to be a little nervous at first, but with gentle care and patience, their sweet personalities continue to emerge more each day.Marie and Stella are a bonded pair and would like to go home together.Marie, around 7 years old, is a gentle, sensitive soul who does best when given time and space to build trust. Stella, about 6 years old, is a soft, fluffy girl who appreciates calm companionship and predictable routines. Together, they find comfort in one another and feel more secure navigating the world side by side. A quiet, patient home will allow their bond and confidence to continue to grow.Arabella, about 4 years old, is a bit more independent and confident than Marie and Stella. She can be adopted on her own or with other calm feline companions, but she could also join Marie and Stella as part of a peaceful trio. Her flexibility gives adopters more options, while still benefiting from a gentle, low-stress environment. All three cats are learning that people can be kind, that full bowls and soft beds are here to stay, and that they never have to go without love again. They may need time to settle in, but once they do, they’ll reward their families with quiet companionship, gratitude, and gentle affection.Because they have been with us awhile and they need a special, patient home, they are Angel`s Wish Forget-Me-Nots and their adoption fee has been waived. This cat attends adoption events at our Verona Adoption Center on Saturdays from 10am to 2:30pm and Sundays from 12pm to 3pm, and can also be met and adopted by appointment by approved adopters.
