Story
Meet Truffles -“The Ears Have It!” Few critters in the animal kingdom have ears that can move separately, up/down, folded, or crisscrossed. The magnificent Truffles is one of the few! This gorgeous, friendly, athletic gal is endowed with huge stick up bat signal ears. When not receiving transmissions, one or both of her giant receivers crisscross atop her head. She loves long walks on her leash, zooming, playing with balls & stuffies, tug-of-war and of course, cuddling. Truffles was born with a genetic condition called mega esophagus that requires a bit of extra time & special steps at meals. She has a custom chair that allows her to eat in an upright position. Truffles eagerly gets into her chair as she is quite food motivated. She sits in her chair for 15 -20 minutes after eating. She cannot have treats. And that is it! You might notice her throat moving like a bullfrog when she is sleeping, due to the enlarged esophagus, but that is nothing to worry about. She is intelligent, active, affectionate, and eager to please. She is ideal for an active family or individual. More Attributes! Leash trained Loves kids, but likely too boisterous for little ones Needs extra care at meal time Local adoption fee is$200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Animal Profile: Sasha is a stunning leggy girl joining us from our friends on the big island of Hawaii to find her forever; she was found as a stray flea infested and likely a discarded hunting dog. She is an estimated 4-years-old and 40lbs (30 lbs at intake and still thin) spayed female Greyhound/Whippet mix. She is social and friendly with people and dogs, a big "sweet mush" who loves to run but also enjoys snuggles. She was hot on the tail of a mongoose in the play yard, so to be safe we would like to see her fostered in a home without cats (though many whippets and greyhounds do well with cats in the home). We will share more info as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Update:  Sasha is a sweet snuggly girl that is gaining confidence in her foster home. Sasha is being fostered in a home with another dog, and she enjoys having a canine buddy. She is playful and enjoys balls and chews. Sasha is affectionate, energetic, and independent at home but in public can be more skittish and nervous. Sasha will need continued exposure to the outside world and an adopter that will help her gain confidence. Sasha walks well on leash, is good in the car and in her crate. She is generally quiet. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent visit with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Hawaii thru our rescue partner Three Ring Ranch, and will be arriving to Seattle area foster care on May 15th, 2025. We will share more info as we get to know her in foster care. June 17, 2025, 1:07 am
