Story
Meet Truffles -“The Ears Have It!” Few critters in the animal kingdom have ears that can move separately, up/down, folded, or crisscrossed. The magnificent Truffles is one of the few! This gorgeous, friendly, athletic gal is endowed with huge stick up bat signal ears. When not receiving transmissions, one or both of her giant receivers crisscross atop her head. She loves long walks on her leash, zooming, playing with balls & stuffies, tug-of-war and of course, cuddling. Truffles was born with a genetic condition called mega esophagus that requires a bit of extra time & special steps at meals. She has a custom chair that allows her to eat in an upright position. Truffles eagerly gets into her chair as she is quite food motivated. She sits in her chair for 15 -20 minutes after eating. She cannot have treats. And that is it! You might notice her throat moving like a bullfrog when she is sleeping, due to the enlarged esophagus, but that is nothing to worry about. She is intelligent, active, affectionate, and eager to please. She is ideal for an active family or individual. More Attributes! Leash trained Loves kids, but likely too boisterous for little ones Needs extra care at meal time Local adoption fee is$200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
MEET AJAX! Ajax is a 6-1/2-year-old Greyhound-Pittie-Shepherd mix, in need of a foster or forever home. Ajax is a special boy who needs a special person to work with him and help him through some of his issues. He is the type of dog who bonds intensely to his person, and thus any transition is a challenge (and in fact, transitioning him to you could be challenging). But once he bonds to you, he's loyal to you forever. Ajax would be a great companion for an active person who wants a mix of a couch potato and active canine pal. Physically, Ajax is a quirky boy! He's got a pittie face, shepherd ears and long legs. He loves to run and play, and he loves his toys, too. He would do well with an experienced adopter or foster who can provide him with love and attention and some basic obedience training. He was once adopted a couple years ago but returned for jumping up on the adopters. But he was loyal to them, too. He has done well with most most dogs but would thrive as an only dog, too. He's not a van of the vet, so needs to wear a muzzle if he goes. Ajax weighs 57 lbs. If you can foster or adopt him, and have dog experience, please email for an application. He is currently in Southern California, but can be transported to Washington.
