Story
Sasha (A126960) is a 7-year-old AK Husky x Lab mix who weighed 82.9 pounds on intake!05/02/24 Sweet, sassy Sasha is back at the shelter and eager to find her new home! She was surrendered back to the shelter because she was defecating inside the home. She was previously said to be housebroken, so she may need a consistent routine and more frequent potty breaks to help break this cycle. Her prior owner also felt that Sasha would be more comfortable in a calmer home setting as she wasnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t very receptive to the toddler in the home. Sasha was described as loving towards adults and a very sweet girl. She was known to be vocal at times which is really her husky personality shining through! Sasha was also said to bark at other dogs but had no experience with smaller critters in this past home. Please ensure you are doing slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new people and animal friends! Sasha is very overweight and would highly benefit from going on a diet. We encourage her next owner to reach out to their vet on ways to help her shed those extra pounds! If you are interested in meeting Sasha, please let us know! 11/22/23 Sasha and her friend Jada were surrendered to the shelter and are now looking for their perfect new places to call home! Sasha and Jada were both said to do great with people of all ages including babies and children! At the shelter, these girls have been very friendly toward the care staff! Sasha and Jada were also said to do well with other dogs and cats. Please ensure you are doing appropriate introductions with all new friends! Both Sasha and Jada were said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and to ride well in car. These girls also know a few basic commands but may benefit from attending a basic obedience class to continue working on their manners. They do have a couple of naughty habits like getting into the trash and jumping on people. If you are interested in meeting Sasha or Jada, please let us know!May 17, 2024, 11:56 pm

Story
Hazel (A134528) is a 7-year-old German Shepherd mix who weighed nearly 60lbs at intake!05/11/24 This beautiful girl is Hazel! Hazel was brought to the shelter with her buddy Diesel after their previous owners found themselves in some unfortunate circumstances. Hazel is a sweet girl who was said to get along with humans of all ages. She can be selective of the doggy company she keeps. Her previous owners indicated that proper introduction is the key! They said when introduced slowly and given time to get to know the other dog, Hazel did great. When she was rushed into introductions, her guard came up. Hazel has never been arounds, so please keep this in mind if wishing to introduce her to any. Please also bear in mind that german shepherds tend to have high prey drives. Hazel has experienced some allergy issues in the past. It was found that a novel protein diet (meaning not chicken or beef) did wonders in managing these allergies. She does experience some seasonal allergies every spring, particularly with her ears. She has been seen and treated by our shelter vet, and this can be easily managed with regular vet care. It is recommended that she is rechecked by her regular vet in 3 weeks (6/4/24). Hazel was described as being outgoing, friendly and affectionate. She was said to ride well in the car and to mind generally well. She has been known to get into the trash if given the opportunity, but she is said to be kennel trained and housebroken. If you are interested in meeting Miss Hazel, please give the shelter a call!May 17, 2024, 11:56 pm
