Story
Meet Lola! A spirited two-year-old Siberian Husky mix currently in Avondale Estates, GA, whose dazzling black, tan, and white coat shimmers under the sun, made even more captivating by one brilliant brown eye and one sparkling blue. Equal parts adventurous and affectionate, Lola brings a lively mix of Husky independence and joyful charm to every moment! With her high-energy personality and keen intelligence, Lola thrives when given daily outlets for both physical movement and mental stimulation. She’s an explorer at heart, always alert and observant, especially when birds fly by or clouds drift above. On walks and in new environments, Lola can be enthusiastic and strong on leash and has shown some reactivity toward unfamiliar dogs and new people, particularly when she becomes overstimulated or highly curious. While she knows several commands like “come,” “down,” “stay,” and “crate,” she’s still learning to stay focused in exciting environments. With consistent training and a confident, experienced caregiver, she’s poised to shine! At home, Lola’s playful side continues to blossom. She loves games with her knotted rope toy, joyfully shreds cardboard when given permission, and digs with glee in garden beds. She’s crate-trained, house-trained, and has developed a fondness for watching the world go by from her favorite window perch. She also has a strong chewing instinct and will happily explore anything within reach, especially plastic or tempting household items, so she needs supervision and safe chew alternatives to keep her busy and content. Lola is social and affectionate, especially during calm moments. At doggy daycare, she’s a favorite among canine pals, happily engaging in play! Her high energy can sometimes be a bit much for more reserved dogs, so thoughtful introductions and supervision are important when meeting new canine friends. She often follows her caregiver from room to room, settling best with calming music and a cozy couch spot to call her own. Though she’s wonderfully loving, Lola is still young and full of that big Husky energy. Lola has been working with trainers and has shown great potential for learning and she would do best with an experienced pet parent who embraces structure, understands reactivity, and is committed to using positive reinforcement as she continues to learn and grow. Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Lola is ready to begin her next chapter in a home that understands both her spirit and her needs. Story
Hello, I'm Sampson. It's a delight to make your acquaintance. I hold the record for being the longest resident dog at Abandoned Pet Rescue. Spending almost six years in a shelter is quite a long time for a majestic 12-year-old German Shepherd like me. When I first arrived, I became protective of my kennel, and it takes me a while to trust new human friends. However, I have formed strong bonds with a few staff members and volunteers over the years who enjoy walking, training, and playing with me. I am in need of an experienced adopter who understands my quirks and protective, loyal nature, someone comfortable with my 100-pound size (that's a lot of charm!). I am seeking a soulmate in the South Florida area willing to invest time in getting to know me at the shelter before I transition to a new home. The shelter staff will demonstrate my leash-walking skills (I am even trained to wear a muzzle) and how quickly I pick up new tricks like speak, paw, and sit. I enjoy car rides and have recently discovered the delight of a Starbucks Puppuccino. My dream is to have a peaceful, calm home with a fenced yard and an abundance of squeaky toys (my favorite!). I am looking for a home without cats or kids, but I do enjoy the companionship of other dogs with a proper introduction. If you are interested in knowing more about me, please complete an adoption application at abandonedpetrescue.org. Kindly spread the word about me so I can find my perfect forever home. Follow the adventures of Sampson on Instagram: @Sampson_APR! Sampson is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and ready for adoption at Abandoned Pet Rescue - a no-kill shelter in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. To meet this adoptable pet, please fill out an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org and a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment.
