This is really hard for us to write, but we are looking to rehome our 8-month-old pit mix, Zeus. We adopted Zeus from the Hobart Humane Society this past February. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and such a smart, loving boy. He has so much personality and truly wants to be a good dog—he just needs the right environment to thrive. Unfortunately, we didn’t fully understand the needs and energy level of this breed when we brought him home. We don’t have a fenced yard, and it’s been really tough for Zeus to adjust to mostly indoor living. He has a lot of energy and needs more space to run and play than we can give him. Zeus has completed two basic training sessions and knows some commands, but he is very strong and still struggles with leash walking. He’s super smart and capable, he just needs more time, consistency, and someone experienced who can continue working with him. Our family situation is changing with relocating due to work. Zeus deserves to be out more rather than inside.

We rescued Zoe in 2020. When she first came to us she took a long time to warm up to my Husband. However, she took to me (Mom) and our 3 little boys and their friends immediately. She was abused at her previous home, but we took her in at 7 months old. She is now inseparable from my Husband. She is loving and very protective over her family, especially over the kids. We love her so much and will only allow her to go to a home that can love her like we do. I unfortunately am disabled and my condition is getting to a point where I am unable to take care of her basic needs. My Husband works 2 jobs and is my caretaker as well. She needs more than we can give her. Danes, especially Zoe, are known for lounging around most of the day. But she does still like to play.

A few years ago, Levi was adopted from us and thought he had found his forever home. Sadly, through no fault of his own, he was abandoned and eventually found his way back into our care. Despite everything he’s been through, Levi still has so much love to give. He enjoys the simple things in life—comfortable naps, kind people, and a peaceful environment. Levi would do best in a home without cats. He can be a little unsure around other dogs at first and will need slow, proper introductions, but he has done well with calmer, lower-energy dogs once he has time to get comfortable.
