Story
Marla (born in April 2018) is an exquisite German Shepherd in search of a dedicated and patient owner. She dreams of finding a loving home that can offer her the stability she needs to conquer her fears and embark on a journey towards a brighter future! While Marla envisions a life as the center of attention in a new household, there is a possibility for her to adjust to living with other dogs given a proper introduction. She may feel anxious around dogs in general and would benefit from multiple visits with her potential adopter. To ensure Marla's peace of mind, it is recommended that she be placed in a child-free environment as young children and highly energetic dogs tend to overwhelm her. Additionally, a secure 6-foot fence is essential as she has the ability to effortlessly leap over a 4-foot fence. With a well-structured routine, positive reinforcement, and the guidance of a professional trainer, we firmly believe that Marla will flourish into a remarkable companion. If you feel that Marla could be the perfect fit for your family, please take the first step by completing an application to meet this endearing sweetheart! Adoptions for Marla are limited to the area within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area so the pet can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer. The suggested adoption donation for Marla is $250.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Say hello to Flower, a German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix, born June 2019.  She is ready for her second chance and a new furever home!  Flower prefers to have another dog around and she is friendly with everyone - canines, humans and kids of all ages! She weighs about 90 lbs. She is housetrained, leash trained and enjoys being active.  She needs a fenced yard so she has a place to run and play.  Flower is shy around people until she gets to know them.  She prefers women and knows some commands.  The perfect home for Flower is with anyone that has kids and/or animals she can play with.  She would also love to be with someone that gives her lots of affection! The suggested adoption donation for Flower is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
