Story
Biggie came to MHS as a stray. Biggie is a very happy guy that seems to love everyone! He has done well with nail trims (although he can be a bit dramatic) and doesn't mind most medical work. Biggie is underweight and is looking for an adopter that will work with their regular veterinarian to get him up to and keep him at a healthy weight. He has not done well with other dogs here at MHS.

Story
Molly is a young Husky/American Pit Terrier/German Shepard mix, born November 2022.  Molly is very affectionate - she loves to cuddle and give kisses.  She is energetic and needs a home with a large yard and a 6 foot fence.  She knows some commands i.e. sit, down, focus (touch the bridge of your nose and she will focus on you) and went to training classes as a puppy.  Molly likes to be around her people and prefers to have another dog or cat around, although she likes to keep her toys for herself.  She also is not a fan of being kenneled.  An open door is an invitation for her to run out, so keep an eye on her when opening the front door.  The perfect home would have a dog of her size or bigger, adults that are steady on their feet because she can tends to jump and can be clumsy, and no young kids.  Molly will need someone who is experienced with handling an energetic dog and someone who will give her a refresher with potty training. The suggested adoption donation for Molly is $400.  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life.  All donations go toward that mission.  Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Meet Esteban! Esteban is a charming Husky puppy (b. 9/1/23) who is looking for a loving forever home with a family that can appreciate his strengths and help him work on a few areas where he could use some guidance. He's crate-trained and gets along well with other dogs, although he's a bit cautious around smaller ones. Cats are also a mystery to him at this point. This active boy loves children aged 6+ and is a total kisser once he feels comfortable! While he's a bit shy at first with new people and high-energy kiddos, patience and a gradual introduction will help him feel at ease. Esteban is a bundle of energy and enjoys running around in a fenced yard, so an active household that can keep up with his Husky spirit would be ideal. One thing he is still working on is his enthusiasm for exploration of the outdoors as he is known to bolt out the door if given the opportunity. However, he is making significant progress with potty training and learning not to jump up when excited. Esteban is vocal about his needs, especially when he needs to go outside. If you're an experienced Husky owner or someone willing to commit to an active lifestyle with plenty of love and patience, Esteban could be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet him and see if you're the family he's been waiting for. Adopting Esteban means embracing all the joy and adventure that comes with having a Husky companion! The suggested adoption donation for Esteban is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital or Omaha Animal Medical Group in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, the adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter if received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. Story
Introducing Presley, a Husky, born June 2023.  She is looking for a new place to call home!  Presley is looking for a place with no cats and maybe another medium to large size dog.  She is an energetic girl and would love to be with someone who has time to take her for a walk every day.  She prefers women and doesn't feel comfortable around men.  Presley loves to play fetch and tug-of-war.  She knows some commands and loves being active, so she will need a fenced yard.  Bonus points if you have experience with Huskies! The suggested adoption donation for Presley is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Hi I'm Chief and I'm excited to meet you! I'm a beautiful fluffy husky with the most mesmerizing eyes - one is auburn and one is parti-colored blue and auburn! Did you know parti-eyes are the most rare? I recently fell upon hard times when my owner passed away and I'm anxious to have my own family again. In the meantime, I've been living with other huskies and I do well with them and love to play. I also love food! Like a typical husky, I'm bouncy and have lots of energy! Do I sound like best friend material? Story
To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Are you looking for an exotic pet, rather than an ordinary husky? LOOK at me! I might be mixed with sugar glider or flying squirrel! I'm soooo cute and truly one of a kind! I'm a happy go lucky medium to high energy pup. I want to play all the time, especially with other dogs! I get along great with the other husky in my foster home. I don't guard my food, toys or snacks, but I can occasionally be a little bossy. I'm learning better manners! I know how to use a doggie door and I am potty trained. I've been trusted unsupervised in the house with no problems. I'm smart, trainable, and I walk nicely on a leash. I like to chase and bark at kitties, so I do need a home without any of those! My foster pawrent says I'm just great and describes me as an easy dream dog! Maybe I'm your fantasy pup? Story
To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Nice to meet you; my name is Bell, and I am a beautiful husky mix looking for a new family. My perfect day would be to wake up with the sun and enjoy a delicious breakfast while you sip a hot cup of coffee (or whatever morning beverage floats your boat). Then we would take a walk together and relax under the shade of the park trees while you throw the ball for me and my siblings or read a good book.   I get along great with my foster siblings if they aren’t too much bigger than me. Size does matter, and I get a little anxious around big dogs, but with some patience I will warm up to everyone in the house. I would prefer to live with a pack, big or small, so that I have siblings to cuddle and play with. A fun fact about me is that I am an amazing gymnast, and I have won gold several years in a row for the high jump. If you are looking for a loving, sweet girl to add to your family tell Taysia that you want to take me home today! To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com July 22, 2024, 1:22 pm

Story
To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Hello there! Cindy Lou here, reporting for duty and cheer! I’m looking to be a new addition to a family, and if you’re reading this, there’s a possibility we’re a perfect match for each other! I’m a super sweet girl, very cuddly. I love to snuggle and jump on laps! My foster says that I’ve got cuddles that would make even the Grinch blush! Turns out, I’d also be really good at a race up or down the Grinch’s mountain, too! I’m very athletic. With that, I’ve become a bit of a jumper, so it’s probably best we get a tall fence in my life, ASAP. Additionally, as much as my snuggles could tame the Grinch, I don’t love to snuggle with everything. Turns out I’ve got a very big prey drive with smaller animals (like cats) or other animals who are not like me. It would be best that I only go to a home where there are only similar-sized dogs. No cats or other animals, please! With all of that, if you’re looking for a lovely lady to go on adventures with, maybe even test your athletic ability alongside mine, then fill out an application for me, Cindy Lou!To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com July 22, 2024, 1:22 pm
