Story
Kodiak was adopted from us in March and was brought back after her several recent escape attempts. She is a typical husky who loves to “talk” and does not like to stop moving, so we don’t recommend her for apartment living. She loves to play with toys and will squeak them at you when you walk by her kennel. Kodiak is very smart and does seem to know how to open gate latches, so securing gates is a must if she is going to be left outside unsupervised. For her safety, Kodiak will require a very sturdy, secure fence, as she is an escape risk and enjoys testing boundaries. So far, she has stayed in the 6ft chain link fences here at the shelter. She does okay in a crate while cleaning but has a tendency to try and dig herself out. She did not bother the livestock in her previous home, so she may do okay in a home with livestock in the future. Kodiak does well with other dogs but does not do well with small animals such as cats, guinea pigs, or rabbits. Her previous adopter stated she is housebroken and crate trained, although her most recent foster noted that she did occasionally have accidents. Kodiak rides well in the car, enjoys being brushed, and is still learning how to walk politely on a leash. Kodiak has been spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, is heartworm negative, and is on prevention.

Story
Jermaine came to us as a stray with his siblings and is now finally ready to find a home of his very own! This happy, sweet puppy is full of joy and always eager for playtime, walks, and fun with his people. Jermaine loves other dogs and enjoys playing with them nonstop — he especially likes roughhousing and wrestling with his canine friends. He does great with kids and is friendly with strangers, though he may be a little shy at first. Once he warms up, his playful and affectionate personality really shines. Like any puppy, Jermaine is still learning the ropes and will need continued work on potty training, as he has had some accidents. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement (he’s very treat-motivated!), he’s sure to make great progress. He does well in a crate, is comfortable being left alone, has good eating habits, and did amazing riding in the car — he even loves it! Jermaine is microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations except rabies. A neuter date will be scheduled at the time of adoption. Jermaine is looking for a loving family ready to help him learn, grow, and enjoy all the adventures puppyhood has to offer.

Karma was surrendered through no fault of her own and has been a very sweet girl during her stay with us. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly and enjoys attention once she feels comfortable. Karma walks well on a leash and while was very quiet when she first came to us, she has since shown that she loves to bark when she knows people are around and she is not receiving attention. She has not yet been tested with other dogs or cats. Karma has all of her vaccinations, is spayed, and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and will begin preventatives soon.
