Story
Meet Greg! Greg came to AFRP with his brothers Peter and Bobby (aka The Brady Bunch) from Hitchcock Road Animal Services. Born with eyelid agenesis, Greg and his brothers all had special eyelid reconstruction surgery, giving them a whole new perspective on life—literally. Greg’s start in life was a little rough—he couldn’t see well at first, which made the world a scary place—but don’t let that fool you. This sweet boy is gentle, loving, and full of quiet charm. Once he feels safe, he transforms into a laid-back superstar, often found sprawling on his back in a warm sunny spot like he owns the place. He’s basically a four-legged, purring sunbeam. Food? Absolutely a top priority. Greg will happily work for treats, savor every bite, and give you all the side-eye gratitude you could ask for. Toys? Yes, please. Greg enjoys gentle play with his favorite toys or mellow wrestling sessions with fellow feline friends. While he’s incredibly easygoing, he’s not the biggest fan of rambunctious animals—slow, careful introductions are a must. Greg would thrive in a calm, quiet home where he can lounge, snack, and sunbathe in peace. He could be your one-and-only, or he could share his chill vibes with another mellow cat or a dog-savvy, gentle pup. No matter what, he brings a level of zen and subtle sass that’s impossible not to love. ** This pet is a Foster-to-Adopt candidate! That means you can foster them for a short trial period to make sure they’re the perfect match for your home before finalizing the adoption. If you’re interested, please complete both a foster application and an adoption application so we can get the process started. ** Greg is currently in a loving foster home. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted and approved by AFRP staff. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to fill one out today!

Story
Meet Frida! Frida’s journey has been an incredible transformation. After arriving at the Monterey SPCA extremely shut down and fearful, she was placed into a dedicated AFRP foster home where, with time and patience, she slowly learned to trust and feel safe. Today, Frida has blossomed into a playful, affectionate, and wonderfully entertaining cat. Naturally shy, Frida needs time to settle in and may retreat to her safe space when overwhelmed by new people or sudden movements. But once comfortable, her personality shines. She loves batting toys across the house, pouncing dramatically, carrying them around in her mouth, and bird-watching from her cat tree like a tiny supervisor. Frida has also become very affectionate in her own gentle way, frequently rubbing against her people for pets before heading off for her next activity. Like many calicos, she has clear boundaries and thrives with adopters who respect them. Frida is looking for a calm, patient home without small children. Neutral cats may be okay with slow introductions, and dogs are unknown. Watching Frida continue to come out of her shell is an incredibly rewarding experience. Interested in Frida? Story
Meet Buoy! This 2-month old male, love bug came to us with his 2 brothers needing to be bottle fed. After being cared for by their loving foster mom he is ready to find his forever home. One of the brothers have already been adopted and Buoy and Boats would love to find a home together. Buoy and Boats are an incredibly friendly pair of brothers with huge personalities and even bigger purrs! These sweet boys run right up to everyone with their tails held high, ready to play, explore, and make new friends. Curious, confident, and full of energy, they will happily sidle up to you until you give in and play with them. These brothers are well socialized and used to a busy foster home with all kinds of company — including the foster family’s big cattle dog/husky mix, an adult cat, and assorted humans of all ages. They are confident, affectionate, and love being part of the action. They also prefer to sleep right in the middle of whatever is going on, but they are also perfectly happy together in their own room at night. Litter trained, eating well, and growing beautifully in the sunshine, Boats and Buoy are healthy, happy, and thriving. One of their favorite things is curling up together on a sunny windowsill to nap and watch the outside world go by. Whether they’re zooming around the house, wrestling with each other, or snuggling up for a cozy rest, these brothers bring nonstop joy and entertainment wherever they go. Buoy is currently staying at Petco. Meet-and-greets can be arranged once your online application has been received and approved. Visit our website at www.animalfriendsrescueproject.org to complete an online cat application.
