Story
Meet Greg! Greg came to AFRP with his brothers Peter and Bobby (aka The Brady Bunch) from Hitchcock Road Animal Services. Born with eyelid agenesis, Greg and his brothers all had special eyelid reconstruction surgery, giving them a whole new perspective on life—literally. Greg’s start in life was a little rough—he couldn’t see well at first, which made the world a scary place—but don’t let that fool you. This sweet boy is gentle, loving, and full of quiet charm. Once he feels safe, he transforms into a laid-back superstar, often found sprawling on his back in a warm sunny spot like he owns the place. He’s basically a four-legged, purring sunbeam. Food? Absolutely a top priority. Greg will happily work for treats, savor every bite, and give you all the side-eye gratitude you could ask for. Toys? Yes, please. Greg enjoys gentle play with his favorite toys or mellow wrestling sessions with fellow feline friends. While he’s incredibly easygoing, he’s not the biggest fan of rambunctious animals—slow, careful introductions are a must. Greg would thrive in a calm, quiet home where he can lounge, snack, and sunbathe in peace. He could be your one-and-only, or he could share his chill vibes with another mellow cat or a dog-savvy, gentle pup. No matter what, he brings a level of zen and subtle sass that’s impossible not to love. ** This pet is a Foster-to-Adopt candidate! That means you can foster them for a short trial period to make sure they’re the perfect match for your home before finalizing the adoption. If you’re interested, please complete both a foster application and an adoption application so we can get the process started. ** Greg is currently in a loving foster home. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted and approved by AFRP staff. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to fill one out today!

Story
Meet Autumn! Autumn came back to AFRP after her previous human couldn’t care for her anymore, and now she’s searching for a home where she can rule as queen of her castle. This senior lady is shy at first, fiercely independent, and has a healthy dose of diva energy—she’s the kind of cat who will silently judge your life choices, but we love her all the more for it. Head-butts and gentle scritches are always welcome, but forced cuddles? Not on her watch. She does things on her schedule, thank you very much. Even in her golden years, Autumn has plenty of personality. She enjoys strategically napping in sunny spots, surveying her domain from a perch, and occasionally reminding you who really runs the household with a perfectly timed side-eye. She’s curious about her humans’ activities, but always from a safe, comfortable distance until she feels ready to interact. Dogs? Not her thing. Other cats? Hmmm, not really into it. Adult-only homes are strongly preferred so she can reign supreme without distraction. Autumn is happiest when she can do life at her own pace, but those who earn her trust will be rewarded with soft purrs, gentle head-butts, and the occasional, delightful little “grumpy” charm that only torties can pull off. ** This pet is a Foster-to-Adopt candidate! That means you can foster them for a short trial period to make sure they’re the perfect match for your home before finalizing the adoption. If you’re interested, please complete both a foster application and an adoption application so we can get the process started. ** Autumn is currently in a loving foster home. Story
Introducing Dr. Pepper! This fluffy boy recently came into AFRP's care after Hitchcock Road Animal Services reached out for help with a poor kitty who was brought in with a urinary blockage. Now, after loving care and dedication from our clinic staff and his foster, Dr. Pepper is ready for his furever home! Dr. Pepper has a charming bob-tail and a big personality to match. He is exceptionally outgoing and always ready to greet new people. He adores rubbing up against his favorite humans, lounging by the window or on his cat tree, and soaking up all the pets he can get. When not soaking up love, Dr. Pepper loves to play with anything - balls, strings, catnip toy, cardboard boxes! He is a very curious and adventurous guy, who is sure to keep you laughing. While in our care, Dr. Pepper was diagnosed with Manx syndrome, a congenital condition associated with his bob-tail. As a result, he requires a prescription urinary diet and daily medication—which he takes like a pro! He also experiences some occasional incontinence or light “dribbling”. Possibly due to Manx Syndrome, Dr. Pepper is also hearing impaired or deaf, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit! Dr. Pepper has overcome some medical challenges and in spite of a rough start, he is full of personality and sunshine. He is harness-trained and stroller-trained and he’d love a home with a catio or one where he could go for little walks safely on harness or in a stroller with his people. His ideal home would be with adult adopters or families who have cat-savvy children over the age of six at this time. Dr. Pepper may do well with a calm, confident cat or a dog in the home. Due to his exuberant nature, he is not a good match with a very gentle or shy cat. **Dr. Pepper is a candidate for a foster-to-adopt opportunity! If you are interested in this program, please complete a foster application, and adoption application. Don’t worry, the adoption application will not be processed until you are ready to move forward. Also, his adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor.** Dr. Pepper is currently at our adoption location inside Pet Food Express at the Crossroads in Carmel. A meet and greet can be scheduled once a an online application has been submitted and approved. Please visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to submit one today!
