Story
Meet Greg! Greg came to AFRP with his brothers Peter and Bobby (aka The Brady Bunch) from Hitchcock Road Animal Services. Born with eyelid agenesis, Greg and his brothers all had special eyelid reconstruction surgery, giving them a whole new perspective on life—literally. Greg’s start in life was a little rough—he couldn’t see well at first, which made the world a scary place—but don’t let that fool you. This sweet boy is gentle, loving, and full of quiet charm. Once he feels safe, he transforms into a laid-back superstar, often found sprawling on his back in a warm sunny spot like he owns the place. He’s basically a four-legged, purring sunbeam. Food? Absolutely a top priority. Greg will happily work for treats, savor every bite, and give you all the side-eye gratitude you could ask for. Toys? Yes, please. Greg enjoys gentle play with his favorite toys or mellow wrestling sessions with fellow feline friends. While he’s incredibly easygoing, he’s not the biggest fan of rambunctious animals—slow, careful introductions are a must. Greg would thrive in a calm, quiet home where he can lounge, snack, and sunbathe in peace. He could be your one-and-only, or he could share his chill vibes with another mellow cat or a dog-savvy, gentle pup. No matter what, he brings a level of zen and subtle sass that’s impossible not to love. Greg is currently in a loving foster home. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted and approved by AFRP staff. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to fill one out today!

Story
Meet Ziggy! Ziggy isn’t just any senior kitty, he’s a staff favorite, a handsome gentleman, and a 2011 AFRP alumni returning for round two of love and cuddles. Now looking for his next “bachelor pad,” this big, charming grump is searching for a calm, adult-only home where he can do life on his terms. Ziggy loves affection… in carefully measured doses. Petting? Yes, but don’t overdo it. Playtime? Only when he feels like it. Most of the day, he prefers napping, lounging on his cat tower, or quietly judging the world from his favorite window or catio. He’s a bird-watching pro and a toy-chase enthusiast—but mostly he’s an expert in chill vibes. Other pets? Meh. Ziggy prefers to be your one and only, though he might tolerate a mellow cat or dog if introductions are slow and respectful. His diet is specialized due to allergies, but that doesn’t slow him down, meal time is basically the highlight of his day, and he approaches it with the intensity of a tiny furry foodie. Ziggy is basically a mix of grumpy dad energy, high-class loaf vibes, and subtle sass. Adopt (or foster) him if you want a senior cat who will demand respect and reward your patience with endless charm… on his schedule. Ziggy is currently in a loving foster home. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted and approved by AFRP staff. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to fill one out today!

Story
Meet Chili AKA Chili Pepper! The spiciest girl in all of Monterey had quite a rough start in life, but with a huge "Chili Support Group" this girl is finally ready to find her furever home. Chili might be small, but she’s got the attitude of a lion in a kitten’s body! This spicy girl isn’t afraid to speak her mind, whether that’s a playful swat, a fierce pounce, or a dramatic tail flick. She’s full of energy, sass, and personality, and she’ll keep you laughing every single day. Chili’s not for the faint of heart, but if you love a kitten with confidence and flair, she’s your girl. Chili is seeking a home with experienced adult adopters at this time due to her spice levels. She would likely do just fine in a home with a cat-savvy dog, and may do fine with another cat who is willing to tolerate a high-energy kitten. Interested in learning more about Chili?
