Meet Loki & Shu! 🧡🖤
Some friendships are simply meant to be.
Loki and Shu are an adorable bonded pair of 5½-month-old kittens who were rescued just a few days apart. While we think they may be brother and sister, one thing is certain: they have chosen each other as family. They play together, nap together, eat together, and keep tabs on one another throughout the day. When Shu needed medicine, Loki was always right there checking to make sure she was okay. Wherever one goes, the other isn't far behind.
Together, they strike the perfect balance of playful chaos and heart-melting sweetness.
Loki is your classic orange boy... complete with endless commentary. This little guy has something to say about everything. Hungry? He'll tell you. Wants to play? He'll tell you. Wants pets? He'll definitely tell you. His impressive repertoire ranges from adorable meows to the sweetest little grumbles, and yes, he'll happily wake you up each morning to announce that the day has officially begun.
He's also convinced your phone is the greatest threat to receiving adequate attention. If you're scrolling instead of petting him, he'll loudly voice his objections before climbing into your lap (or directly onto your chest) and settling in with his head resting on your hand, as if to say, "There. That's better."
Loki is an energetic, growing kitten who loves wand toys, anything moving under a blanket, climbing cat trees, scratching posts, and occasionally ambushing unsuspecting feet under the covers. Once cuddle time begins, though, prepare to cancel your plans. His favorite position is upside down in your arms while you rub his incredibly soft tummy, scratch his paws, and admire the world's cutest sploot.
Loki has a slight wobble in his walk, likely from an old injury before rescue. It doesn't slow him down one bit, causes him no pain, and requires no treatment. It's simply part of his charm.
Shu (short for Shunamite) is the quieter half of the duo... but only by comparison. Her tiny, delicate little mew is impossibly sweet, and she makes the cutest grumbling noises whenever she's hoping for snuggles or playtime.
She has endless kitten energy and loves interactive play, especially chasing balls... then proudly carrying them back in her mouth like a tiny retriever. Crinkle toys are another favorite, and she enjoys launching surprise pounces while you're relaxing in bed.
While Loki prefers to be held like a baby, Shu prefers affection on her own terms. Sit down on the floor, and she'll often trot right over to curl up in your lap for neck scratches. One look into her big eyes, and you'll understand why everyone falls in love with her. She has a habit of holding eye contact for surprisingly long stretches, as if she's carefully studying her humans.
Shu also has a hilarious fascination with shoes. If you've been outside, she'll happily inspect your shoes, your feet, your clothes, or anything carrying exciting outdoor scents. She's even been known to tuck her paws into shoes or nap on top of them. Laundry baskets also rank among her favorite hangout spots.
These two are wonderfully playful but also deeply affectionate. They both enjoy sunny afternoon naps, cozy window perches, and curling up together after a long day of kitten adventures.
Because they can startle easily with loud commotion, Loki and Shu would be happiest in a calm home without young children or rowdy dogs. They would do well with other cat-friendly cats and are looking for a family ready to embrace twice the cuddles, twice the entertainment, and twice the love.
