Story
Hi! I'm Mellow Marvin! You can call me Marvin, though, and I'll respond, whether it's to get some snuggle time or go to my room at bedtime. I got my name because I was so snuggly and chill right away when I moved in with my foster mom! I love to cuddle on your lap and be held like a baby and will make air biscuits when you hold me that way. I can sometimes get a little too excited, though, and may try to nibble at a finger. You can watch my tail to see if I'm getting too worked up and know if it's time to back off and let me calm down. I want attention and like to cuddle with my human, but only for a while, and will eventually go off and spend time by myself. I'll play with toys by myself, but also have fun playing with wand toys with my human. I like flat cat scratchers and cat tunnels, and enjoy looking out the window from a cat tree perch. I'm a brave and curious cat, who explores the entire house and isn’t shy about jumping up onto higher surfaces. I get along fine with my foster mom's big dog, and learned quickly to stay away from his food bowl. Otherwise, we do great together. I've been selective with other cats, though. I bully the shy, more timid cat I live with; I'll stalk and then pounce on her and try to start a fight, so we have to be kept separate. I left alone a more assertive cat who told me to back off; I listened to that cat and didn't try to start anything. I am very food motivated. I'll gobble up all the food put in front of me, so foster mom uses an automatic feeder to feed me multiple small meals throughout the day. I'll also steal food off your plate if you’re not looking, so it's best to not leave any food out where I might be able to get it. I came to RCHS with bite wounds and a problem with my right eye. My wounds all healed up great, but my eye had a pre-cancerous lesion, so my doctors decided it would be best to remove it. Don't worry, I do just fine without it! I'm all healed up and healthy now and am looking forward to finding my furever snuggle-buddy! All kitties go to their new homes spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Story
*Courtesy Post Hello! My name is Ace and that’s exactly where my wonderful foster mom came to my rescue. She thought she was shopping for flower pots at Ace Hardware, but instead she found me, who had wandered into the store in distress and premature labor. It was very hot outside and the employees could not help me. So, she took me home and helped me through it all. Unfortunately, none of my sweet babies survived, but I did. She wasn’t sure if I was someone’s lost pet or just homeless, so she tried to find my family with no luck. I’ve been spayed and the animal shelter mistook me as feral (which I am absolutely not!), but because of that, they clipped off half of one of my beautiful ears. I guess my modeling dreams are ruined, but not my hopes to become someone’s lovable forever pet! I love to be cradled like a baby and I really like to chase grasshoppers. I can be timid and shy at first because of all my new surroundings, but I’m learning so much! I get along really well with my outdoor foster cat brother and I really wish to go inside and meet all my foster mom’s indoor cats, but her house is already full. I did meet my foster dog BIG brother and I did not like him at all, but as long as he leaves me alone and keeps his distance when he comes outside to potty, I try to behave myself. I've had a pretty rough life so far, but I'm so ready to curl up on your lap and make you have to turn up the tv because I purr so loud. Please give me a chance to be your new furbaby and welcome me into your home! *Courtesy posting is a service RCHS provides to our community members who need to rehome an animal.
