Story
Rosie is a beautiful hound mix with red coloring. She came back to our shelter after being adopted as a puppy, because her owner was no longer able to care for her. Rosie is a ball of energy, she would do best in a home with a large fenced backyard for her to run around in. Rosie is very smart and knows the commands; sit, stay, come, and paw. Her estimated DOB is 12/14/2024. This sweet girl has a lot of love to give and she's excitedly waiting for her furever home. Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Every pet available for adoption is current on shots spayed/neutered, and microchipped. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Please note that the kennels close for pet viewing at 4:30pm.

Story
Violet was found abandoned with her sister (or puppy?) Rose. She had a large deep gash on the back of her head, her left ear was partially detached, and her eyeball was severely infected. She was also extremely underweight. She’s had her eye removed and been spayed and is doing much better. She is heartworm positive. Treatment is being started and is covered fully by the rescue. She is absolutely precious with humans of all ages and does phenomenal with chickens/ducks/etc. She loves and protects Rose but other than that she seems to see other dogs as a threat. She has managed to coexist with one cat at her foster home. She’s the absolute best cuddler and her tail never stops wagging. She is potty trained!

Story
Rose was found abandoned with Violet who we believe is her mom or possibly sibling. She was swollen and ravaged with mange- oozing pus and blood everywhere. She was in so much pain. She has since had her mange fully treated. She has 6 pellets in her from a pellet gun that we will try to remove when she’s spayed. She is gentle, good with people and kids, calm, and has been fine with other dogs and cats. She’s looking for a forever home. She would love to be adopted with Violet but they can also go separately. ❤️ she will be spayed prior to adoption!

Story
Sarah was the most severely emotionally damaged dog we pulled out of the felony animal cruelty case in Jacksonville, AR on April 12, 2025. She was absolutely in fight or flight mode. She does have a human bite history from when an animal control officer surprised her by coming up behind her and grabbing her hips to try and lift her into the vehicle. She was focused on me who had her leash and was not expecting them to touch her. After a mandatory bite quarantine we had a professional behavioral assessment done. They expressed her reactions are all fear based. She is not aggressive but she does have certain triggers that make her absolutely terrified. Once a solid bond of trust is established, like I have made with her, she can be worked with. She is highly food motivated (which makes sense after being starved to near death in a tiny bedroom with 20 other dogs) and that can be used to form the bond. She is very soft and accepts pets once she trusts you. She is potty pad trained! We’re working on walking on a leash. Something about having a collar put over her head terrifies her and we’re still working on that. I’ve been able to bathe her and pick her up and crate her and get her to the vet. She has had all her shots and been spayed and microchipped. Any interested adopter will need to be willing to go slow and put in the work and agree to not put her into a situation that she’s likely to fail. I’ve worked too hard on her to go backwards from someone else not being careful. She’s a special dog to me and has boatloads of potential.

Introducing Hondo, the loyal and brave companion you've been waiting for! Hondo is a true good boy, showcasing his friendly nature with both people and fellow furry friends. He strikes the perfect balance between confident and respectful, making him a wonderful addition to any household dynamic. While Hondo may be a bit head shy when it comes to leashes, it's a trait rooted in his past experiences - his ears once caused him discomfort. But with patience and understanding, he's slowly overcoming this challenge. This resilience highlights his adaptable nature and willingness to grow. Crate training is a breeze for Hondo, reflecting his cooperative spirit. He's well-versed in the art of sitting and enjoys eating a peaceful meal. These traits make him a joy to train and a promising companion for both new and experienced pet owners. Story
You know, I am named "Tuffy" but what if I am just a "Softy"?? I am an active and sweet boy and I am kind of a goofball, too. I came from a very nice couple who loved me very much, however, they were homeless. Now don't get me wrong, they took EXCELLENT care of me, but I am a BIG puppy and they were having a hard time taking me on the buses or letting me into the shelters :( So, my parents asked the rescue to take me in and find me the right home, so here I am, looking all buff- if you ask me :) I am a GORGEOUS Catahoula boy, tall, merle and HANDSOME!! My eyes tell my story and it is a good one! I have time on my hands and I am a playful and fun kind of pup. BIG puppy- 65# and growing :) I am learning my manners and am making ALL kinds of friends at the rescue, but I am waiting for the SPECIAL FRIENDS who will give me my WILDEST DREAM- A HOME! SO, look me up, don't wait... APPLY!!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Marlene’s journey started on the streets, before her foster was finally able to bring her to safety. Now she’s warm, loved, and ready to find her forever family. This sweet girl is shy at first, but once she feels safe, her gentle personality shines. She’s also won over by food—a few treats go a long way in helping her feel comfortable and connected. Marlene thrives with the companionship of other dogs. Having a confident canine friend boosts her own confidence, and she can happily play with them all day long. She is crate trained and housebroken. Marlene would do best in a calmer home with older children, as quick or unexpected movements can still startle her. With patience, kindness, and a steady routine, she’ll continue to blossom into the affectionate, loyal companion she was always meant to be. Marlene is ready for a family who can give her the love and reassurance she’s been waiting for. Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
