Story
Hi, I’m Missy! I’m a super sweet girl who may be a little shy when we first meet, but give me a little time, a few treats, and some gentle pets, and I’ll start to show you just how loving I am. Once I know you, I turn into the happiest little wiggle machine and absolutely love belly rubs, affection, and spending time close to my people. I also do really well with other dogs and feel especially comfortable when I have a canine friend nearby. Before coming to HSVC, I spent time at another shelter where I became a mama and raised my puppy, who has since found a home of their own. Now it’s my turn to find a family who will love me just as much. If you’re patient, kind, and ready for a sweet companion who will reward you with lots of wiggles and love, I’d love to meet you.

Story
Hi there, I’m Kate! If you’d told me a year ago that the world could be this wonderful, I might not have believed you. I came to SPARC from a high-kill shelter with my tiny puppies, looking for a safe place to land. Thanks to the peaceful Ojai boarding ranch, I got to raise my babies in quiet comfort. Now that every single one of my pups has found their happy ending... I’m quietly raising my paw and asking: is it my turn next?I’m a 3-year-old Plott Hound mix with a big heart and a gentle soul. Meeting new humans can make me a little shy at first, but here’s my secret: I draw my courage from other dogs! When I’m surrounded by a friendly pack, my confidence skyrockets. I thrive when running, playing, and exploring the outdoors with canine pals by my side.Once I know I’m safe with you, get ready for the real magic—nonstop cuddles, endless head scratches, and a loyal shadow who will stay devoted to you forever. My Ideal Home:A Doggy Sibling: A confident, friendly dog brother or sister to show me the ropes and help me feel secure.Patient Humans: Gentle folks who understand that shy dogs blossom at their own speed with kindness and encouragement.Adventure Buddies: Someone up for hikes, outdoor fun, and exploring nature together!Ready to give a brave mama dog her ultimate happily-ever-after? Contact SPARC today to set up a trip to the ranch to meet me!

Story
We adopted Bear (M) and Kora (F) from the shelter and they are now 3 years old. They are trained and know many commands and even do well off leash. They are amazing with adults but Kora does not do well with young children. We need to rehome them together as Kora has separation anxiety when she is not with Bear. They are used to getting a walk a day and love running around the yard. Kora loves affection and Bear is very food motivated. Overall they are great dogs but they need to be in a house with older children and we have a toddler and another on the way. No cats or small dogs, another large dog might be okay with the proper introduction. They will come with all their toys, crates, beds, etc. Just hoping to find someone who can give them a good home
