Hello, I'm Delta. I am a sweet and affectionate girl who just melts when I am receiving love. I have a silly-playful side as well that I like to show once I am comfortable with you! I am housetrained and lived with other dogs previously who I did well with. I hope to meet you soon!

Story
Lorelai is a bit of a “cat in a dog’s body”Independent, observant, and a little particular. She may take some time to warm up but once she chooses you, she’ll happily follow you from room to room like your own little shadow. She also has some very cat-like habits. She loves sleeping in high places and, if given the choice, will absolutely pick the top of her crate over the inside. She enjoys affection, but prefers it at her pace, which makes building trust with her especially rewarding. Lorelai has a nice balance of energy. She enjoys exploring, but she’s just as happy to relax and hang out nearby. As a hound, she’s also quite talkative and has a deep voice to prove it, so she may not be the best fit for an apartment living. She does well with other dogs as long as they respect her space. She coexists nicely with appropriate introductions. We haven’t tested her with cats yet, but she doesn’t seem to have a strong prey drive. She’s still working on some basics. She’s not fully housebroken yet and will need frequent potty breaks or crate time. She does settle in a crate after an initial barking protest (she likes to voice her opinions first!). She’s also known to try to sneak out the door if given the chance, so a mindful home that can manage door safety is important. Fun fact: Lorelai LOVES chickpeas!

Story
We are looking to rehome a sweet two-year-old bloodhound who was acquired as a puppy around May, 2024. She has grown up on a spacious rural homestead where she has access to the house and free range to roam within a fenced property. She is a friendly and energetic dog who has been well cared for and is up to date on her vaccinations. Her general training has been somewhat lax, so she would benefit from an owner who is willing to spend some time working with her. She does not have any significant bad habits, aside from being at the tail end of her chewing stage. She has a little more energy than is practical for her current home, where she is cared for by a couple in their mid-80s. She would be happier with someone who can give her more exercise, attention, companionship and opportunities to put her energy to use. We hope to find a good home for her in the Gainesville area, although location would not be considered a deal breaker for the right home.
