Duffy Girl is a deeply loving, goofy, loyal companion looking for a calm home with an experienced dog owner who can help her feel safe and secure. I adopted her over 5 years ago, and while she’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, house trained, and generally low maintenance, she carries trauma from her early life that has led to fear-based reactivity toward some people and dogs when startled or anxious. Most of the time, Duffy is cuddly, playful, and wonderfully well-behaved. She thrives with routine, patience, and someone who understands anxious dogs and can confidently manage her triggers. As our family prepares for a baby, we know she would do best in a different environment where her needs can come first. This is an incredibly difficult decision made purely out of love for her. We are hoping to find Duffy a compassionate, experienced home where she can continue to feel safe, loved, and understood, rather than face the stress and uncertainty of a shelter.

Willow is a 10-month-old mixed breed with a big heart and an even bigger personality packed into her 53 lb frame. She’s incredibly smart, people-oriented, and happiest when she’s included in whatever her humans are doing. Whether it’s going for walks, learning new things, or curling up for snuggles at the end of the day, Willow just wants to be close to her people. She is house trained and already knows sit, wait, heel, and lay down. She learns quickly and thrives with structure, attention, and affection. Willow would do best with someone who has the time and energy to continue working with her and helping her grow into an amazing adult dog. She will come with her leash, harness, collar, slow feeder, and remaining food to help make her transition easier. Willow is a wonderful dog, but I never intended on keeping her too long. I can no longer give her the time, consistency, and lifestyle she deserves long-term. My priority is finding her a safe, loving forever home.

After spending several years at Satchel’s Last Resort, Kelly recently transitioned to a foster home — and she’s been thriving! She settled in like she’d lived there forever and has proven to be the perfect house guest. Kelly is calm, well-mannered, and deeply devoted to her people. While she can be protective of her family at home, she absolutely loves meeting new people on her walks and happily soaks up belly rubs and kisses from everyone she meets. Kelly is a dream on the leash, knows all her basic commands, and listens like a pro. She’s a big fan of car rides — whether she’s riding shotgun or stretched out in the backseat, she’s just happy to be along for the journey. Kelly prefers a quiet life and would be happiest as your one-and-only furry friend — she’s not much for sharing attention with other pets. A shy and cautious boy, our handsome Kricket is looking for his forever home with a calm family who won't ask too much of him. Kricket is 8 years old and has been at Satchel's for 4 of those years learning to explore the world again one paw at a time. He may come up to you with worried eyes, but with a bit of encouragement and possibly a tasty treat, he will become your friend after a few meets. Kricket has a Woof Pack leader here at Satchel's and enjoys a day off in the home every week where he gets his weekly bath and enjoys some air conditioned nap time. He does great in the home, staying off furniture and no accidents. Kricket loves the frequent air conditioned van rides with Quentin (his Woof Pack leader), stopping for walks around the shopping center parking lots and Twin Lakes, always engrossed in investigating. Kricket walks great on leash, though if spooked, tends to pull back to home base. He has recently started attending off-site adoption meet and greet events with his Woof Pack leader every week and is doing well meeting new people. He'd prefer dogs not be in his bubble but they are okay at a distance. When he is comfortable, Kricket will show a smirking smile, sneak in a few kisses and a happy wagging tail. He is a very sweet boy underneath that spotty coat of his, and with patience and encouragement will be able to expand his horizons. If you are looking for a friend to share new experiences with, but still like a cozy day in, Kricket would love to meet you!
