Story
I was actually born in foster care here about 10 years ago, so you could say this place has known me all my life. Since then, I’ve bounced between homes a few times — not because I’m a bad boy, but because I’ve always needed a little extra time and understanding to build trust with new people and situations. Once I feel safe, though, I’m as loyal and loving as they come.During my last stay, I joined the Homeward Bound program and spent a week with some great trainers who helped me meet new dogs, explore new environments, and gain confidence. I really blossomed! I was adopted into what I thought would be my forever home, but sadly, I came back when my beloved owner passed away unexpectedly. I’m adjusting well here again, but this time, I’m really hoping to find my true forever family.I can live with other dogs as long as they don’t mind a friend who can be a bit pushy sometimes. Small kids make me nervous, but teenagers are totally fine. Cats, though… yeah, they’re not for me.Now, I’ve got to be honest about one thing — I am highly food motivated. Like, really motivated. If it’s edible (and sometimes even if it’s not), I’m interested! Because I have very little self-control when it comes to snacks, my new family will need to help me keep my waistline in check. I’ll happily eat my way to a double chin if left to my own devices, and that’s just not great for a dog my age.If you’ve got a patient heart, a sense of humor, and a knack for portion control, I might just be your perfect companion.
