Sweet Betty came to us from another rescue friend. She was a stray who gave birth under a woman’s mobile home. The woman was feeding her, but the cold weather was coming in fast and they wouldn’t make it out in the cold. Betty and her babies made it to us in warm South Florida and have been thriving. All the pups have been adopted and it’s Betty’s turn! She is very shy, but super chill. She loves to chase the squirrels and make sure they don’t come down out of the trees into her yard! When she’s not chasing squirrels she’s napping. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and on flea/tick prevention. She would be well suited for a quieter household and could do well in an apartment or condo setting where she can enjoy a relaxed routine. Like many hounds, Scarlett is still learning polite leash manners and will benefit from continued practice and patience on walks. She does well with other dogs and enjoys calm companionship. At this time, we have not yet observed her interactions with children or cats, so slow, thoughtful introductions would be important in a home with either.
