Story
Meet ROCKY-courtesy post ROCKY 9 yrs young 85-90lbs This handsome boy is not with our rescue, but he’s still in need of a loving home. He would not do well in a shelter environment, so we’re hoping we can help! Poor Rocky’s owner passed away, and he is very, very sad. He is a very sweet boy who loves to cuddle with his people. He is smart, loving & loyal. Rocky loves to play in the yard, go for walks and loves to go for car rides. He would love a quieter home without kids, but teenagers are okay! He is not a fan of other dogs, but has done well with dog savvy cats. If interested in this sweet boy, please contact JEN-603-566-8500 or jmol3125@gmail.com

Story
Rocky the Plott Hound is a gentleman who loves LOVE! This 9-year-old male is from S. NH but sadly my cousin, his ”dad” suddenly passed away. He is lonely & can't wait to love & adore his forever home. Family members are heartbreakingly unable to take Rocky, so they are desperately searching for someone to adopt him soon. His temporary arrangement ends in late May 2024. Rocky is a chill guy, loves playtime, zoomies, and spending time in his yard (a fenced yard would be ideal & sorry no apartments). He loves car rides & walks, but doesn't heel so well. Rocky doesn't get along with other dogs so an aware owner is best to help redirect his attention to prevent reacting. Rocky previously lived with a calm teenager. To help Rocky flourish & overcome loss, he would do best with an experienced dog owner who is willing to work with him in a positive manner. Rocky is smart & training can be fun & help build a bond with his new owner. One look in his sweet loving eyes & you'll be hooked.

Story
All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step. Courtesy post. GDHS does not own this dog nor have we met him. Contact Jen at Jmol3125@gmail.com with questions and interest.  Hey! I’m Rocky. I may be 9 years old, but don’t let my grey face fool you, I don’t act my age. I love to play fetch but my favorite thing would be to snuggle with you while you watch tv and get all the pets while you remind me how I am a good boy. I have these soulful eyes that will melt your heart. I would love a home with a big fenced in yard to run, maybe a teenager to play with and I guess a cat wouldn’t be so bad as long as they are dog savvy. I used to have my own kid and cats but unfortunately my dad passed away and I don’t have any family members I can live with because I really don’t want dog friends and they all have dogs. I don’t know many commands, but I know how to sit like a good boy. The trainer lady who met me said I should probably get some training so I can go on long walks with you and listen to everything you want me to know. I’m a big smoosh I hear, whatever that means. I would love to find a home soon as the shelters nearby don’t have space for me in their foster homes. Please share my story so I can find my best family.  All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped. The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only. May 1, 2024, 8:33 pm
