Harper loves to be close! She is a one to two year-old plott hound/black mouth cur mix that weighs 63 pounds and arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/4 as a stray. She appeared to be timid in her kennel, but once she got out in the yard she came to life! .She was frisky and was attempting to entice me to play with her. She does fetch and retrieve balls. She sits for treats and takes them gently. She comes when you call her. She’s friendly, outgoing, active, and affectionate. She didn’t have a problem meeting other dogs. She walked OK on a leash. She would like to have a yard to stretch her legs in and to play in but would like to spend most of her time inside cuddling up with her new family.

Hi! I'm Atticus! I'm an approximately 8 year old, male, Plott Hound/Lab mix. I was found at Terry Park in Heath on 12/17/2024 and never reclaimed. I am excited to find a family who will love and cherish me. I enjoy a snuggly bed and warm blankets and still love to run and play! Since I am in a foster home, meet and greets will be by approved application only. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, and basic boosters. I did test heartworm positive but thanks to Rockwall PAWS I will be able to start my treatment protocol immediately at no cost to my adopter. That is when I do get adopted. If you have any questions about my heartworm treatment or heartworms fell free to ask an RAC staff member. They are happy to answer any questions you have. Artie is a big sweet gentle fellow! He was found stray in 2022 and has been with HOT-PAWS since that time. He did one trial adoption, but was not really given a chance to settle in (only 3 days). This big boy is good with kids,cats, and other dogs. He can be quiet and loving enjoying some petting, but also can be active at times. He rides well in the car, walks well on a leash, crates okay, and stays well in a secure fence. If left unattended in the house, he may show some puppy behaviors and chew things. He would make a great companion or family dog.
