Milo looks like someone shrunk a hound down to a much more convenient size. At around 18 months old and only 30 lbs, he has the classic hound look without the classic hound volume. Milo isn't a loud or particularly vocal dog. He is incredibly sweet, easygoing, and low maintenance. Milo has a naturally submissive personality with other dogs and gets along great with them. He's also great with cats, making him an easy addition to a home with other animals. Milo is a chill little guy who doesn't need constant activity or entertainment to be happy. Give him some love, a comfortable place to hang out, and a family to call his own, and he's pretty content with life. Good fit: someone looking for a sweet, quiet, low-maintenance companion who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), I always take my dogs back. Volt is being fostered in NC. Volt has some vision. update Volt is doing well! He lives for cuddles at night before going to bed in his crate. During the day he has one speed and that is lightning fast. His favorite treat is carrots and he will do anything for them but lay down, lol. He has a pretty good recall and knows sit. He is fully potty trained and goes to the back door when he needs to go out. He plays so gently with his foster mom's mini aussies and rough and tumble with Elektra (corso) and Trigger (lab). Volt had some grand mal seizures that were caused by Simparica Trio. These lasted about 3 weeks with lingering focal seizures. He is still on keppra and he's doing great! He has not had any seizures in the last 3 months. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately

Wrangler is being fostered in PA.Wrangler has some limited vision.Wrangler here with an update on me, foster Mommy said I had to do it since they did some new tests on me. First, I am a big boy at almost 1.5 years old now! Anyway, I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBD) which they are treating with low fat food and watching my diet. Also, my B12 is low so foster Mommy gives me a shot every 3 weeks. I do great with the shot, she gives it while I am eating and I could care less cause I just want my food lolAlso, something that goes with the IBD thingy is anxiety and I try, but am scared of new things. I like to go slow meeting new ones. I can’t tell my foster Mommy why, but I’m scared of men. We are working on all this. I am great at home and I don’t do anything in the house when foster Mommy leaves because I have other doggies I am with. So as long as I am not alone, I am ok. We are trying Prozac to see if this will help relax me enough to get over my fears because I am a sweetie, really! And, I just love cuddling on the couch with foster Mommy and sleeping in bed with her. Even though I can stretch out and take up leg room at times hee heeBDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

He is an energetic, shy but affectionate (once he gets to know you) and smart that likes other dogs and teen kids. He is a great companion for an active family with a secure 6 ft fence, children over 12 years of age or active single person. Catahoula experience is recommended. He is an indoor dog. He likes walks, car rides, toys. and dog beds. He will require daily walks and some dog training. Will require 6 ft fence. No apartments or rentals. No cats. Helotes Humane Society is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We save homeless and abandoned dogs and find them loving forever homes in other areas, where pet homelessness is not epidemic. All of our pets are located here, in San Antonio, and we partner with rescues to provide transportation for our pets to their new homes.
