Meet Charlie – The Tiny but Mighty Survivor with a Heart Full of Love Charlie is a 4-year-old, 12-pound Portuguese Podengo who has already lived through more than most dogs his age. He was born at a backyard breeder and confiscated by animal control along with the rest of the siblings being sold for thousands of dollars. From there, he landed in a high-kill shelter. Because of over population and small size, he was immediately placed on the euthanasia list and scheduled to be put to sleep at 4:00 PM. But fate had other plans for this little guy. Our rescue team happened to be at the shelter that very afternoon. We watched as staff gently carried Charlie back for what was supposed to be his final “pup cup” treat. The moment we saw him — this tiny, fluffy, long-haired cutie with big, trusting eyes — we knew we couldn’t let it happen. We stepped in right then and pulled him from the shelter just hours before his scheduled time. Today, Charlie is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and bursting with love. He’s playful, cuddly, and incredibly sweet — the kind of dog who melts into your lap and gives you those big eyes that make your heart skip a beat. Despite everything he’s been through, he trusts people completely and is ready to shower his forever family with endless affection. Charlie is looking for a loving home where he can finally feel safe, spoiled, and cherished. He’s great with kids and adults alike and would love nothing more than to be someone’s little shadow — following you from room to room, snuggling on the couch, and living his very best puppy life. Meet Jett 🐾 This tiny chi mix baby was rescued from Downey Animal Shelter after being brought in with his siblings — and sadly, he was the only one not adopted. 💔 After settling into foster care, Jett developed kennel cough that turned into pneumonia, but after his vet visit he’s finally on the road to recovery. This sweet 13-week-old boy loves cuddling up with anyone for nap time and would thrive in almost any home, especially one with an older dog sibling to look up to. 🥹 Jett will hopefully be ready for adoption next week if his recovery continues going well. He’s still just a puppy and will need a family ready to help him learn the basics of training and potty training. She’s 8 years old, a little Chihuahua–Pug mix (a Chug!), and has that perfect calm energy that makes her such a good companion.She enjoys her walks and gets excited for dog park time, but she’s just as happy hanging out at home and relaxing. She’s fully house trained, super easygoing, and doesn’t need constant attention. She’s totally fine doing her own thing, being an independent girl, but also loves being near her people. The perfect balance!She gets along well with other dogs, but she’d also do just fine as your one and only. She hasn’t been around cats since she has been with us, but based on her personality we are guessing she would be fine. She’s the kind of dog that just fits into your life!Saydee is ready for a fresh start and a home where she can just be loved and appreciated for the sweet, chill girl she is!Our adoptions are restricted to residents within 30 miles of the South Bay area of Los Angeles. This is Vixie! She’s part of our Retro Pups Litter. They are 2 month terrier/chihuahua mixes. She is the last little girl in our litter. Vixie is a tiny little thing. She has short little legs and a longer body. She is definitely the baby in the bunch. She always wants to be right next to her people. Don’t get me wrong, she likes to play with her siblings (for about 3 minutes and then she’s back looking for a lap). She loves other dogs and has a healthy respect for cats. The pups will likely be in the 10-15 pounds (the girls will likely be closer to 10 pounds).
