Story
  A quick look at Wanda and you probably think she is a Terrier mix. Actually, she is a Portuguese Podengo Pequeno, a breed known for its many wonderful qualities, most notably playful, charming, lively, inquisitive, and intelligent.  Wanda certainly has all of these qualities and more. Although she is about 7-10 years old, Wanda has the energy and gusto of a much younger dog. She is a very bright and friendly girl, always ready to engage for playtime or affection. Wanda embraces all the attention she receives, and enjoys it all from playing with toys, playing fetch, romping in the yard, to cuddling up for love and belly rubs.             Wanda is ready to brighten up a new family with her spry, fun, sweet personality. She gets along with other dogs, but would be fine as the only dog in her new home. She currently weighs about 21-22 pounds, but should be about 18 pounds at proper weight. Wanda continues to be passed on for our Shih Tzus and other smaller, younger dogs, and has been at the rescue for way too long.  Won’t you consider giving this amazing girl a chance, and put in an application today?Please watch the video at the end of the photos to see Wanda displaying all her Podengo greatness. WATCH MY VIDEO...These two chihuahuas deserve a home together. Ten-year-old Yago and 8-year-old Lucia have lived together almost their entire lives before their owner became ill and could no longer care for them. It may be for the best though, because these sweet seniors were spending most of their time outside, instead of in the comfort of a home. Due to this, and the lack of preventative care, Lucia has sadly contracted heartworm disease from a mosquito. Heartworm is a curable disease with proper treatment, which our shelter will provide free of charge, even after adoption. These two seniors are just wonderful! They walk great on leash with one another and are super friendly with adults, children and other friendly dogs. They love being pet and just want to be close to you. Because they have lived outside, they will dig in the yard and chase cats, and we are told that they both use the potty outside. Yago and Lucia are ready to live their golden years together in the comfort of a loving home Can you give these besties the life they have been dreaming of? If you cannot adopt, please share for Yago and Lucia. To adopt these two best friends, please complete the pre-adoption application at humanebroward.com and then stop by the Humane Society of Broward County to meet them. Ace of Base is a sweet and lovely dog. He doesn’t require a lot of attention, but he will not say no to it either. He love to bury himself under the bed covers and go to sleep, which is so cute. If he is being mischievous and I catch him, he won’t look at me, he would look up or away, like to “it wasn’t me, I don’t know who did”. All in all, Ace of Base is an amazing dog.
