Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Simba is a very sweet boy.  Once he is comfortable, he wants to always be near his people or preferably in their laps soaking up all the love he can get.    He likes to spend time gazing out the windows or laying in a patch of sunlight. He loves to toss his toys high in the air and then race after them.   This little guy seems to have springs in his legs as he just bounces up and down when he plays, super fun to watch him have so much joy! He is underweight but has shown no resource guarding of his food and takes treats very gently. However, it's best to feed separate from other pets. He sleeps all night in his bed in a gated room and does fantastic, never making a peep during the night. He is completely potty trained as well. He enjoys being outside and chasing tennis balls and often brings them back so should be great at retrieving with more practice.     Simba does have a fair amount of hesitation towards strangers. However with patience, it has only taken a few hours to help him feel safe enough around new faces. He does pretty well walking on a leash but does have some reactivity towards other dogs.  This is a work in progress and will take more training. He gets along  with our 2 resident dogs and reads their body language well. He does well with being handled (baths, checking ears, etc) and has very little shedding.     If you are looking for a sweet little snuggler, Simba may be the dog for you! Simba is from Texas. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sissy is a sweet, gentle, and playful girl.  She enjoys exploring the outdoors and she loves to run and play with the other small dogs in her foster home!  A fenced in yard would be best for Sissy, allowing her to go in/out independently to do her business.  She enjoys going on walks and she is learning to walk well on a leash.  Sissy travels quietly in the car.  She is potty trained, and she enjoys playing and chewing on toys.  It will be important to have a confident small dog in Sissy’s forever home to help her continue to learn to trust people.  Sissy is cautious when meeting new people and it is important to let her settle in on her own timeline.  Despite her cautiousness, Sissy's not aggressive, she’s just timid when it comes to new human interaction. Sissy does enjoy a good rub when she trusts you.  Now that she trusts us, one of her favorite times of the day is when she’s allowed up on our bed in the morning with all our dogs where she can get lots of love and rubs, and she cuddles in next to all of us. She will nudge your hand for more rubs!  With patience, time, and the influence of her small furry siblings, Sissy's confidence is growing daily. Sissy’s sweet playful side shines through every day!  Sissy would be a wonderful companion for another small playful dog.  Sissy currently lives with small dogs and adults. Energetic large dogs and young children make her very nervous.  Older respectful teenage children may be okay, A larger dog that is low key and quiet should be fine with slow introductions.  A quieter household with not a lot of visitors would make Sissy most comfortable.    If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, quiet, and even-tempered dog who’d love to play with your small dog, then Sissy may be the girl for you.  Every day she shows us what a wonderful girl she is blossoming into!  It will be important to be patient with her to earn her trust, and to have a quieter home with no young kids, and no high energy large dogs.  Sissy would be fine hanging out in another room in the house with a “safe place” if young kids visited.  A fenced in yard would be the perfect home for Sissy.  Fill out an application, I’d love to tell you all about this sweet girl!    Sissy is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Bruiser! Bruiser is a playful soul, especially when it comes to interacting with other small dogs. She thrives in the company of confident canine companions, often looking to them for guidance as she continues to become more comfortable in new situations. She is becoming more trusting of the world every single day!  As she is continuing to be more confident, she's a bit particular about how she likes to be approached—no head pats or top-down greetings for this gal. It makes her uncomfortable. Instead, Bruiser prefers a more gentle approach, with a hand sniff and chin scratch being the key to her heart and making her comfortable. A typical day in Bruiser's life starts with a morning routine of outdoor time, followed by breakfast in her crate and a well-deserved treat. Throughout the day, she enjoys hanging out by her foster parent's side, playing with her furry friends, and going on short walks with other small dogs. Bruiser is a creature of comfort, preferring to have her harness put on while nestled in her bed. As the day winds down, Bruiser settles in for dinner in her crate, followed by some relaxation before bedtime. She's a loyal companion who thrives on routine and loves nothing more than spending quality time with her foster family. Bruiser has not been introduced to children or cats. If you're in search of a furry friend who's equal parts playful and affectionate, Bruiser might just be the perfect match for you. Bruiser is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
