Story
Meet Nina – A Tiny Soul with a Huge Heart Sweet little Nina is an 8-year-old Chihuahua who has already endured more heartbreak than any pup should. When her elderly mom passed away, no one in the family stepped up to take her in. Instead, Nina was left scared and alone at a shelter — confused, grieving, and carrying a tumor on her tummy. Her world had fallen apart. Just when hope seemed lost and time was running out, a plea went out to save her from euthanasia… and Legacy Humane Society answered. They stepped in to change her story — to heal her broken heart and give her the second chance she so deeply deserves. At just 14 pounds, Nina is the perfect little lap companion with a heart full of love. X-rays showed that her cancer hadn’t spread (the best news ever!), and her tumors have now been successfully removed. She’s on the road to recovery — both physically and emotionally — and she’s blossoming into the sweet, gentle girl she was always meant to be. Nina can be a little cautious when meeting new people — and she might show a bit of Chihuahua sass at first — but once she knows you’re safe and kind, her walls melt away. That’s when her true self shines: a devoted little snuggler who just wants to be close to her person and feel loved again. She is looking for an adult only home. Nina dreams of a forever home where she’ll never be left behind again — where soft beds, kind hands, and gentle hearts surround her every day. She still has so much love to give… could you be the one to show her that happily ever after's really do come true? If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Nina, please reach out to Legacy Humane Society today by completing an application and her foster mom will be in touch. The adoption fee is $275.00 and covers her spay, vaccinations, de-wormer, first dose of heartworm preventative and microchip. She is heartworm negative. Please apply at: http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Nina is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, Heartworm Negative and Microchipped. We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted.
