Griff has had a rough start in life. One of our long time volunteers found him tied to a tree in horrible shape. We took him in to Apollo and got him medical attention. He is young, confused and the shelter noises make him very anxious. He is the cutest and quirkiest pup that would make someone laugh and have a lot of fun. We took care of his medical needs and all he has is a little bit of hair loss. That just makes him more special. At less than a year old Griff has suffered abandonment and neglect. We hope for an active family willing to love him and train him with patience and understanding of his horrible past. He is neutered and up to date on shots. He is anxious at the rescue and it's been difficult making a clear determination if he is dog reactive or not. We believe once outside of the noise and with proper decompression time he could tolerate other dogs. This would take time and slow introductions are recommended.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

Charlie Chalupa is a Chi mix that weights 16lbs and almost 8 years old.  He was adopted 7 years ago and with the change in the family dynamics, they are traveling non-stop and do not have the time to give Charlie the care and attention he deserves. They reached out to LHS for assistance placing him in a home where he doesn't have to be in board a majority of the time.  He enjoys running around the backyard and playing fetch. He loves to play with his doggie friend and is respectful of kitties as well.  Snuggling in your lap and napping with you is really his favorite thing to do though!  He is crate trained and house broken. Charlie is up to date on vaccinations, current on rabies, has been neutered, micro chipped and is heartworm negative.  He is available to go to his new furever family now. Story
Maya was adopted as a puppy but as the family grew over the last year, with a toddler and another baby on the way, the family decided that Maya it too tiny and fragile for the little people in her life. She is now in LHS foster care seeking a forever home to call her own.  Weighing in at 15lbs and 1 1/12 years old, this little girl is all kinds of adorable. She has never been around cats but we think she would do just fine. She is good with other dogs and people. She can be a little shy at first so a home that isn't high traffic would be best. She is crate trained and housebroken.  She is heartworm negative, microchipped, spayed, current on her vaccinations and all she needs now is a forever home to call her own.
