Story
Delilah was adopted by us from the humane society in 2018. She was a good dog, a few behavior issues, but over time she overcame them and was a pleasant pet for our family. She loved other dogs and showed no aggression. In 2023 we gained an addition to the family, a 1 year old puppy. They became best friends and played together very well. As dynamic of family changed and some tense situations in the house happened She began to get aggressive over certain things, she became jealous of the younger dog. She started to act out, eventually biting my teen daughter and getting more aggressive over food around the younger dog. At this point I just cant take any changes on her attacking him or my daughter again. Its sad because other than these few incidents she is a very loving and well behaved dog. My daughter is scared of her and no longer trusts her though, so she must go

Story
Meet Stellar — the Sweetest Wallflower 💐Stellar is a senior black and white Lab/Pit mix who came to us from a loving home after her owner’s health declined. She’s spent her life being someone’s best friend and is now hoping to find a new family to fill that role once more. She’s a gentle, sensitive soul who’s been understandably overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the shelter. A bit of a nervous nelly, Stellar may start out shy, but with patience and kindness, her sweet personality shines through. She’s done well with both dogs and cats in our temperament testing, and we believe she’ll be much more confident once she’s back in a calm, predictable home environment.Stellar would do best with children 8 and older, not because she isn’t sweet (she absolutely is!), but because loud noises and sudden movements can spook her. Thunderstorms and fireworks aren’t her jam either—but who can blame her? When she’s feeling safe, Stellar loves to play ball, show off her “sit” for cookies, and learn new things to please her people. She’s smart, eager to connect, and just waiting for a quiet home and a warm heart to help her feel secure again.Ready to give this lovely lady a soft place to land? Stella’s got a lot of love left to give—you just have to earn her trust, and she’ll be your loyal shadow for life. 🐾Requirements: Martingale Collar; Children 8yrs+All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.

Story
Toby and his brother Harry came into the shelter as strays together. They are so sweet and adorable together but they are very unsure of human interactions. They are both incredibly dog friendly and once they know they're safe with you they warm up and start coming out of their shell. They are so cute when they walk together and they definitely do the pointer one leg up move. It's adorable! They would greatly benefit from being in a home where they can get used to one on one attention. They come out of their shell quickly and were doing great in their temporary foster home and are doing great in their board and train. Unfortunately boarding is stressful for shelter dogs so a forever or foster home is badly needed for them. For more pictures or videos of Toby please follow @kellysfostersflorida on Instagram or FB.

Story
Meet Corky: Corky is a 6-year-old Pointer who was rescued from the euthanasia list in Miami in 2025 and is now ready for his forever home. He has a moderate energy level, enjoying playtime, walks, and mental enrichment, but he’s just as happy to relax and cuddle with his favorite people. Corky is good with other dogs, knows basic commands, and loves to play with his favorite toys. He does show some resource guarding around his food, but this is a normal behavior that can be managed with consistent training and boundaries—it doesn’t make him a bad dog. Thanks to his adaptable, easygoing nature, Corky would do well in an apartment or condo, or a home with a yard for extra play. He’s a loyal, affectionate boy who is ready to bring love, joy, and companionship to the right family.
