Story
Inky is a 4.5-year-old, 76-pound lovable pup who has been patiently waiting over a year for his forever family — and we honestly can’t understand why. He’s one of our most adored dogs and a true favorite among volunteers and staff thanks to his goofy charm and endlessly lovable personality.Inky loves everyone he meets and thrives on being around people. He’s a strong boy who enjoys heading out on fun outdoor adventures (especially his famous lizard-hunting excursions), but what matters most to him is simply being included with his humans. He’s happiest when he’s near his people, soaking up attention and showing off his tricks in exchange for treats — with pup cups being his absolute favorite reward. He is house trained, crate trained, neutered, and up to date on all his vaccinations. Inky would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can safely explore, or with an active family who enjoys long walks and outdoor time. He is friendly with other dogs but prefers female companions — his current best friend is Luna, our longest resident. After more than a year in rescue, Inky is more than ready for his second chance. Sweet, loyal, and full of love, he’s just waiting for the family who will finally give him the forever home he deserves. Please Note:All potential adopters must be open to a home check and provide vet records to confirm that any dogs in the household are spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations.Apply DIRECTLY today: https://pawsfurrecovery.org/adoption-application/May 22, 2026, 8:47 am

Story
Meet Stellar — the Sweetest Wallflower 💐Stellar is a senior black and white Lab/Pit mix who came to us from a loving home after her owner’s health declined. She’s spent her life being someone’s best friend and is now hoping to find a new family to fill that role once more. She’s a gentle, sensitive soul who’s been understandably overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the shelter. A bit of a nervous nelly, Stellar may start out shy, but with patience and kindness, her sweet personality shines through. She’s done well with both dogs and cats in our temperament testing, and we believe she’ll be much more confident once she’s back in a calm, predictable home environment.Stellar would do best with children 8 and older, not because she isn’t sweet (she absolutely is!), but because loud noises and sudden movements can spook her. Thunderstorms and fireworks aren’t her jam either—but who can blame her? When she’s feeling safe, Stellar loves to play ball, show off her “sit” for cookies, and learn new things to please her people. She’s smart, eager to connect, and just waiting for a quiet home and a warm heart to help her feel secure again.Ready to give this lovely lady a soft place to land? Stella’s got a lot of love left to give—you just have to earn her trust, and she’ll be your loyal shadow for life. 🐾 While she is currently spending time at a foster home to give her a cozy wait until her forever family finds her, inquire about her with our Front Office staff and they would love to give you more insight on just how wonderful she is!Requirements: Martingale Collar; Children 8yrs+All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.

Story
Meet Lynn: Lynn is a 5-year-old hound who made her way from Alabama to Florida in search of a home. While she may be labeled as a “senior,” she still has plenty of energy and enjoys staying active and engaged. She’s a social, people-oriented dog who seeks out attention and does well with other dogs. Lynn is also quite vocal and will “talk” to you throughout the day, especially when she’s excited—mealtime being a clear favorite. Her expressive personality is typical of her breed and part of what makes her stand out. She is currently being managed with medication for thyroid and liver conditions, and her care team is monitoring her to keep her stable and comfortable. Lynn would do well in a home that can provide regular interaction, gentle guidance, and consistent routines. She’s affectionate, enjoys cuddling, and loves playing with toys. She’s a great match for families, including those with kids or seniors, and will thrive in a loving home that can keep up with her moderate energy and friendly personality.

Story
Meet Rocco! Rocco is a big-hearted, gentle giant who has a calm, affectionate nature and a real love for people once he feels comfortable. He’s a sweet, laid-back boy who enjoys companionship and having space to stretch out and relax. Rocco has lived in a variety of environments, including a farm setting, and has experience being around other dogs and young children. He enjoys canine friends and can coexist well with them, especially with thoughtful management around mealtimes, as he appreciates having his space when eating. This handsome boy is still polishing up his leash skills and would thrive in an active home that can give him structure, guidance, and plenty of outlets for his size and energy. A home with a secure yard where he can safely run and play would be ideal for him. Rocco is looking for an understanding adopter who can appreciate his big personality and continue helping him shine. In the right environment, he has all the makings of a loyal, loving, and devoted companion.
