This very friendly boy ended up at the shelter as a stray. He is used by the shelter to test other dogs for compatibility — and he does wonderfully every time! He has participated in playgroups with both males and females throughout his stay and continues to do great. We are not exactly sure of his age, but he is not an older dog. He is vaccinated and neutered, and ready for a loving home. He is currently located at the Okeechobee shelter and is at risk due to having been there for quite some time. Here is what the shelter says about him: “Nice boy!!! Has been here for a while and very friendly and great with dogs!!! I have made the difficult decision to find a new home for my dog Stella, a Braque-Doodle (a mix of German Shorthaired Pointer and Standard Poodle). She is a 5-and-a-half-year-old female who is extremely nervous. Unfortunately, since our move, she has shown signs of aggression toward children in the home and toward neighboring dogs. She has never been able to be around other dogs, and now, for safety reasons, I do not recommend a home with children. Stella is house-trained, sleeps in her crate, enjoys going for walks, and loves playing fetch. I am hoping to find good people who can help her feel less stressed in a calmer environment better suited for her.

Thankfully I was taken in just in time as I needed a C-section to deliver my babies - I never would have survived on my own! I was a very good Mama and raised my puppies well - they all have nice homes now! I would do best as the queen fur baby of the house without other pets. I've been waiting very patiently for my forever home as I've been going through heartworm treatment, but I now tested negative and am so ready for my forever family to find me! I'm really a sweet girl... the rescue people think I'm a cattle dog/pointer mix (whatever that is). I'm about 4 years old and weigh about 55 pounds (I'm currently a little on the chunky side).
