Story
Meet Huck – A 2–3-year-old Pointer mix with a gentle heart and a strong desire to bond. Found as a stray and never reclaimed, Huck has had a rough start, but he’s ready for a fresh chapter. The shelter environment is tough on Huck, but once outside the kennel, his affectionate and loyal personality shines. He thrives on one-on-one attention and truly connects with his people. A secure body harness and staying close to his handler during transitions help him feel safe and confident.Huck is still learning housetraining and does best with a consistent routine—especially being let outside promptly after meals. During a recent home trial, he was described as “the perfect boy,” aside from his strong prey drive. Because of that, he’s not a good fit for homes with cats or chickens. However, he may do well with other dogs given slow, structured introductions.Huck is fully vetted, neutered, heartworm negative, and ready to find his person.✅ Neutered✅ Fully vetted & up to date on prevention✅ Heartworm negative✅ Affectionate, loyal, and eager to bond✅ Not suitable for homes with cats or chickens✅ May do well with dogs after structured introductions✅ Thrives with a calm environment, consistent routine, and secure harness

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I'm Dancer! I am a mischievous goofball who loves (needs) to keep myself busy! Even though I'm high energy and full of life, I also love to snuggle with my people and dog friends once I'm worn out. My favorite activities include: Chasing bugs (firefly season was the BEST) Going for walks Playing with other dogs Batting around random toys to then chase after them Chewing and carrying around sticks Carrying and tossing around rocks I am... Spayed, Microchipped, and up to date on my shots Food motivated Potty trained Crate Trained I currently live with three resident dogs, sizes small to extra large, and a grumpy cat. I like to chase small animals if they run, but am learning, "leave it" because I'm not allowed to chase him. I live with three- and four-year-old hoomans, and while I like kids, I tend to accidentally knock them over or think it's fun to lick them in the face. I’d be a good match for kids who love to roughhouse and play, but because my spatial awareness still needs some work, I’d do best with children seven and up! My ideal home has another young, playful dog. I love to run, wrestle, and snuggle with dog friends- and without one, I can get a little mouthy when asking for attention or playing. I like to follow my dog friends' lead and typically am on the submissive side with them. My biggest areas of opportunity are... Settling: I’m a busybody—without enough exercise or stimulation, I find ways to entertain myself. Dog Boundaries: I don’t really have an “off switch” with play. I’ll need either a playful dog buddy, no other dogs, or adopters willing to monitor and give their dog breaks. Food Stealing: If food is left unattended (or in a toddler’s hand), I’ll try to snag it. Potty Time: I believe potty is a group activity—I only go if my foster mom or another dog comes along. I’m a sweet, happy girl and the last of my litter waiting for a home! I still have some growing up and manners to learn, but I promise I’m worth it. To set up a meet and greet with me, please apply!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All animal breeds and ages are a best estimate September 4, 2025, 6:12 pm
