Story
Sweet little Bea was running around rural Georgia with her sidekick for several weeks after apparently being dumped. Everybody in the area said they were friendly, but no one knew them so they called animal control. The girls were very bonded at first, but we feel like their first love is people. They want to love people and be loved so badly but when they didn’t have any people, they became very attached to each other. Her sidekick has now found her forever home and it’s Miss Bea’s turn now. She’s exceptionally sweet and outgoing. She loves to go for walks and rides in the car. She also loves to snuggle on the couch. Bea is 22 pounds and between four and five years old. WE ARE ONLY GUESSING AT HER BREED! She does not really have a JRT temperament but she has the size and cute little short tail. She is up-to-date on vaccines, spayed and heartworm tested negative. She appears to be a very healthy and happy girl. She had a couple of accidents the first day in her foster home but now she’s doing very well with house training if you would like to be Miss Bea’s hero and the center of her world, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or Dogs4mylife@gmail.com and we will send you our information and application. Story
Socialization: Beemer is very friendly and warms up quickly to new people. He loves when people come over and once he knows you are a friend, he is a friend too! He gets along with everyone and is very friendly and playful. He tries to get our 10 year old dog to play but listens to him when he does not want to. He is an active puppy and gets zoomies in the house. He is more submissive and has done well with all members of our family as well as people he meets. He has met people at PetCo and loved all the attention he received! However, kids are overwhleming for him, so he needs to go to a home with no kids or kids above 12 years of age. He was recently cat tested and he would be fine in a home with cats as well. Training: Beemer is crate trained. Since he is a puppy, it's for his own safety. He loves to chew toys up, so he should still be monitored at all times. He is well behaved in the house, but as a puppy, he needs supervision. He doesn't love the crate, but sleeps in it at the foot of our bed at night with no issues. He will sometimes bark for about 5-10 min if I have to leave him during the day. We have not worked on any specific commands, but he does know "good potty" when he goes outside. He is a very smart boy and learned our rules and routine very quickly here! I would say he is about 95% housetrained - he is even starting to go to the door to tell me when he needs to go out. Activity requirements: Beemer is a pointer mix, but not as active as a full pointer. He loves to run and play and wrestle, but leash walks would also be ok for him, he would probably need 20-30 minutes in the morning and evening. I would prefer an area for him to be able to run off leash safely in his forever home. Fence requirements: A fenced yard is preferred for a young puppy to get all their energy out. A tired puppy makes for a well behaved puppy! Dog parks or Doggy Daycare would be ok for him as well. Personality: Beemer is very goofy and derpy! He loves to be with us, unless he is very tired, then he doesn't follow me around like he usually does. He is very curious and inquisitive and can get into mischief. He is cuddly and playful, loves to meet new people and may just need a few moments to warm up. Health history:  Beemer tested positive for Giardia antigens in the USA, so he had the parasite in Greece, but the treatment there worked. He was also treated for a mild ear infection. He is in great health. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and on monthly heartworm prevention. His next Leishmaniasis test is due 11/11/2026. This dog originates from Greece where Leishmaniasis is endemic. They tested negative before coming to the USA, but the parasite can remain dormant in the system for many years, so potential adopters must be willing to commit to annual testing for the next 7 years. Typically, the test needs to be sent to a special lab, but any regular vet can draw the blood and send it to the lab. The cost of the test seems to vary widely by area, but is approximately $150-$250. or if your vet is willing to send the test to a veterinary college lab, cost can be as low as $80. Foster comments: Beemer, his 9 siblings, and mom were found last summer after the fires in Greece. The puppies were only 4 weeks old when they were found. We are so happy that New Beginnings Greek Sporting Dog Rescue saved them and now they have a chance at a wonderful life! Beemer is a super sweet puppy. For being 8 months and 45 lbs, he has been relatively easy! He learns routine quickly and is such a silly and lovable pup. We are hopeful for a wonderful and active family to give him a lifetime of the love that he deserves! You can see more photos and videos of him on his instagram @i_love_setters Foster location: Oak Park, IL Guardian Angels: Our adoption fees are normally $490 but an anonymous donor made a donation of $340 toward his adoption fee through our Guardian Angel program! As a result, Beemer's adoption fee is $150. Read more about our Guardian Angel program here: https://givebutter.com/s34cU4 Transport note: We are able to arrange volunteer transport to get dogs from their foster home to their adopter as long as the adopter and the foster are within a 1,000 mile radius of each other and the adopter is located in the USA. If the adopter is more than 1,000 miles from the foster home, adoption would only be possible if the adopter is willing to drive the distance beyond the 1,000-mile transport limit. Long distance adoptions may also be possible if the adopter is willing to pay for a flight for getting their dog from the foster home to their location if the foster feels this is an appropriate arrangement for the specific dog. Canadian adopters would have to drive into the USA to pick up their dog, as we do not transport outside of the USA. ##2580195##

Story
Socialization: Royce is very happy-go-lucky and loves to meet new people of all genders and sizes. He can get very excited at first but mellows out quickly. He is an overall agile guy. Royce can be very playful with other dogs. He is very submissive and laid back. He warms up quickly to other dogs. With his laid-back demeanor, he would be fine with cats. He is very responsive to corrections and learns the concept of boundaries quickly. Training: Royce has been learning basic obedience and has learned sit, and he is working on down and stay. Royce is very well behaved. He loves curling up on the couch and laying down pretty much the whole time. We are at the kennel, but he loves going and running in the yard with his siblings. I would recommend that he be crated at least until he gets comfortable with his surroundings, as everything will be new to him. He doesn’t really have any bad habits and he doesn’t counter surf. He does jump up on people when first greeting them but we are working on improving that. Activity requirements: Royce is active, but mind games do help to wear him out. He would prefer a fenced yard, but daily long walks would also work well for him. We are working on leash training. Fence requirements: He would be fine without a fenced backyard if he had at least one long walk daily. Dog parks are not a good option, as multiple dogs being introduced at once can be overwhelming. He can likely be trained to an invisible fence as well. Personality: Royce is a goofball and very cuddly. He loves giving hugs and being with his people. He will lay on the couch with you as long as you would like and as long as you are near. He loves chewing on toys and playing tug-of-war with rope toys. He isn’t a huge Kong guy. Health history: Royce is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and on monthly heartworm prevention. Royce tends to have a pretty sensitive stomach, so sticking to a solid food and not changing it up is highly recommended. Also not going too crazy on treats would highly benefit him or sticking to digestive treats that won't upset his stomach. He has been to the vet and has had a fecal but was cleared with no isses, so he just needs simple feedings. He is due for his next leishmaniasis test in November, 2026. Foster comments: Royce is a one-of-a-kind dog! He is very goofy and bubbly, but also very laid-back. He would be the perfect addition to anyone’s home. Foster location: Kalamazoo, MI Guardian Angels: The typical adoption fee for our dogs is $490, however, Royce has $340 of his adoption fee covered by a donation through our Guardian Angel program! As a result, his adoption fee is $150. Story
Socialization: Young lady, Jetta, is a shy girl when you first meet her. She is submissive and will insist on belly rubs as her initial “bonding” activity. Introductions to new surroundings, people and animals should be slow – one at a time, since she can easily be overwhelmed (both leashed and/or through a fence or gate). Once she feels comfortable, she will be paws down and ready to play. Her smaller foster sister is the "Alpha" of the house, and Jetta doesn’t mind getting bossed around and being last in the pecking order. With Jetta’s young age and innocent puppy curiosity – her foster mom thinks she could eventually learn to be pals with cats, but she was not cat tested in her foster home. Training: Jetta is an impressive learner in her foster environment. NO, DOWN, LEAVE IT, SIT, COME and CRATE are her most used commands. She hasn’t had a single accident in her foster home and quickly learned that doggie doors were her gateway to freedom. She does not attempt to escape the yard, and made fast friends with the “mean” dog on the rear fence line. She loves a good pile of sticks to chew, and will dig a small hole here and there, but nothing major so far. At nighttime, Jetta is a crate superstar. She does not chew her fluffy bed, and has a plaid snuggle blankie with her since coming over from Greece. She settles in quickly and you won’t hear a single peep from her overnight. Her foster mom does crate her when she leaves home for an extended time - but it is mostly for Jetta’s safety. She is no longer being closely monitored while in the house. The few times that Jetta was “tested” for 10-15 minutes alone in the house with her foster sister, she did well, waiting anxiously at the window for her foster mom to return. Jetta still needs to learn no jumping and pawing at people, and she is making good progress at that. She is a velcro dog and wants to be as close as possible to her humans, shadowing you from room to room and laying at your feet while you work. Activity requirements: Miss Jetta gets all the activity she wants currently in her foster home. She loves to be outside in the yard during the day. She will venture out there alone sometimes and run in circles while her foster sister naps in the sun and foster mom is working inside. On average, Jetta needs a solid 1-2 hours of intense daily activity to keep her content. Walking Jetta on a leash is a work in progress. She is more of a sniffer than a walker and hasn’t quite figured out yet to keep moving. In perspective, she is doing great (considering her young age) with everything that has been thrown at her in just a few months being in the USA. Fence requirements: Jetta currently has a 5ft aluminum fence on a half-acre lot. She will not do well without a fenced yard (at least 4ft tall) and leash walks only would not be sufficient for her to run out her puppy energy. She might be receptive to an invisible fence but this is not a known nor has it been attempted in her foster environment. Personality: Jetta is very intuitive and smart but still learning her bigger size and how to be gentle. There is a sincere sweetness about her. Jetta would do best with another dog/pet around her for reassurance and comfort. She is very affectionate towards her foster sister - licking her and constantly kissing/grooming her but sometimes gnawing on hind legs and ears until her foster sister tells her to stop. She has rapidly picked up the household routine and etiquette from her observing her foster sister. She just wants your undivided love and attention by “holding” your hand or arm gently in her mouth. Health history: Jetta had a minor ear infection that has been treated and cleared. She also was treated for Giardia when she arrived from Greece and has been rechecked with a negative result. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and on monthly heartworm prevention. Her next Leishmaniasis test is due in November 2026. This dog originates from Greece where Leishmaniasis is endemic. They tested negative before coming to the USA, but the parasite can remain dormant in the system for many years, so potential adopters must be willing to commit to annual testing for the next 7 years. The cost of the test seems to vary widely by area, but is approximately $150-$250. or if your vet is willing to send the test to a veterinary college lab, cost can be as low as $80. Foster comments: Jetta will need a loving, patient and attentive home. She will do very well with training when rewarded for good behavior. Repetitive positive reinforcement works very well on her. She is a sweet girl who is ready for her forever home! Foster location: Rock Hill, SC Guardian Angels: The typical adoption fee for our dogs is $490, however, Jetta has $340 of her adoption fee covered by a donation through our Guardian Angel program! Good with dogs,
Story
Socialization: Kia is a sweet pup that is in our Rescue Ranch with her 3 sisters. Kia is playful and loves other dogs. Kia can be nervous when first meeting new people, but will curl up next you once she gets to know you. Kia would do best in a home with no young children. She has not been tested with cats but does very well with young puppies and other dogs. Training: Kia is a curious puppy, she will explore the whole house if you let her. She knows how to sit, down, kennel and recall. Her potty training is getting better every day and doesn’t have accidents very often. Kia loves to chew and does very well in a crate. All of the puppies are power chewers, and need kong or other strong toys. They enjoy chewing on ropes as well. Crating is needed for now for her own safety. Activity requirements: Kia loves to run and play. She is a young energetic dog and would do best in a home with someone who loves to hike or run. A fenced in area would be a plus. Kia has been working on her leash manners and is getting better every day. She would require daily exercise. She loves tug and chase! Fence requirements: Kia is an active dog and will need exercise every day. If her adoptive home does not have a fenced yard, she will need an active home with a solid exercise plan. Physical fences are preferred, but an invisible fence may be an option for her as well. Personality: Kia is sweet and affectionate puppy! She enjoys play with other dogs, and likes to play tug and chew on her toys. She will destroy her plushies. She would do well in a home with another playful dog. She can be independent at times but still loves to curl up next to you on the couch. Kia really enjoys her training sessions and learning new things. She can be shy in new places and meeting new people but will warm up quickly. Health history: Kia is a healthy puppy, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly heartworm prevention. Her next leish test will be due in November 2026. This dog originates from Greece where Leishmaniasis is endemic. Foster comments: Kia is such a cute and sweet tri-color pointer puppy! She loves to play and snuggle up in the evening. She enjoys running and chewing on bones and Kongs. She's a very happy puppy and we're excited for her to find her happily ever after! Foster location: Kalamazoo, MI Guardian Angels: The typical adoption fee for our dogs is $490, however, Kia has had $100 of her adoption fee covered by her Guardian Angel in memory of Peach and another Guardian Angel has donated an additional $240 of her adoption fee! Story
Socialization: Benz is shy when meeting new people and dogs, but has warmed up quickly once he feels comfortable. He will need to adjust to a new living situation, so his new home will have to be patient and give him lots of love. Benz can be a little dominant with some dogs and I think he is a little fearful. He’s young and learning how to interact and play. He’s 1 of 9 dogs in his foster home and does well with all of them. He has appeared overly interested in the cat, so he might chase a cat but if a cat was used to dogs it might work with some training. To be safe I’d say no cats but he’s co-existed with a foster home that had a cat for a month and the cat does disappear when she doesn’t want to be bothered. Training: Benz knows his name and comes when called He’s good in house but I supervise him because he’s still a pup and may chew woodwork, so I watch him. He’s good in a crate and stays there when foster mom is gone and overnight. He may try to countersurf so he's still learning to keep his paws on the ground. Activity requirements: He loves walks and running/playing in yard with sister Mercedes. Between the walks and play with other dogs, he gets plenty of exercise. He likes to chase balls. Fence requirements: A fence would be ideal but if a home was committed to exercising him via leash walks it could work as well. An invisible fence may also be a good option for him. Personality: Benz is a very nice boy! He has steadily gained confidence in foster home. He does love attention and is playful and also cuddly. Health history: He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and on monthly heartworm prevention. His next leish test is due in November 2026. He has no known health issues.
