Meet Espresso Splash of Cream! Good things take time to brew, and Espresso is proof of that — this 4-month-old Pointer/Labrador Retriever mix is one of the four adorable pups from the "Café" litter, and he's exactly the kind of dog who reveals himself slowly, in the best way. He's dressed in a beautiful white coat covered in the cutest tan details: a striking patch around his right eye, little cow-like spots scattered across his back, and a dipped tail that ties his whole one-of-a-kind look together. Of all the Café puppies, Espresso is the more reserved and thoughtful one. While some of his siblings might dive headfirst into the middle of everything, Espresso prefers to take it all in first. You'll often find him quietly sniffing around a new environment, carefully checking things out, and giving himself a little time to decide that everything is okay before he settles in. It's not shyness so much as a gentle, observant nature — he just likes to look before he leaps. Espresso has also grown up alongside his three Café Litter siblings, giving him wonderful early socialization with other young puppies. He's accustomed to playing, exploring, and sharing his world with his brothers and sister, and continued positive socialization will help his confidence keep growing. Like any puppy his age, Espresso is still early in his training journey. His forever family should be ready to continue working on potty training, crate training, leash skills, basic commands, and positive socialization with patience and consistency as he grows. This sweet boy would especially appreciate a family that understands the magic of a slower, softer approach. Let him sniff. Let him observe. Give him some gentle encouragement and affection without expecting too much too quickly. It doesn't take Espresso long to come around, and watching that playful, affectionate puppy emerge makes the wait completely worth it. Espresso is thoughtful, inquisitive, affectionate, and oh-so-sweet. Introducing the “Old Farts” litter! 🐾❤️ First things first: they aren’t old, and they definitely aren’t farts. 😂 What they are is an absolutely adorable group of mixed-breed puppies! Some have abundant scruffy coats, others are a little smoother, and they come in a delightful variety of colors. There’s a personality—and a puppy—for everyone. Their names are a little nod to a simpler time, when you might have had a grandparent, great-aunt, or elderly neighbor named: 🌸Girls🌸 Estella Viola Augusta 💙Boys💙 Ralph Earl Walter These happy-go-lucky pups came from a small Texas shelter, and we knew we had to help them before their young lives were cut short. Despite their difficult beginning, they haven't let it slow them down one bit. They are playful, affectionate, curious, and very much convinced that people exist primarily for puppy attention. They’re working hard on their potty training and haven’t been introduced to leash walking just yet—but they’re ready to learn! And their superpowers? Those noses and ears! 👃👂Their foster says they could probably find you a mile away in the middle of the jungle if you rattled a bag of treats. We haven't tested the jungle theory yet, but we have no reason to doubt them. 😂 These babies deserve the very best life has to offer. They had a cruel start and almost didn't make it out, but their incredible zest for life reminds us that a rough beginning doesn't have to determine the ending. Now they’re ready for the next chapter. Could that chapter be with you? ❤️

Meet Baxter 💛 Baxter is an adorable 8-year-old, 70-pound yellow Lab with an incredibly sweet personality and so much love to give. Baxter spent the first eight years of his life with one loving family. Sadly, his family recently had to move overseas and made the difficult decision that an international flight would be too stressful for him. While this transition wasn’t what anyone hoped for, Baxter has remained the same wonderful, loyal, and loving dog he has always been. Baxter is playful, well-mannered, completely potty trained, and gets along well with other dogs. He has primarily been an indoor dog and is happiest simply being with his people. Whether he’s relaxing around the house, hanging out with his family, or quietly keeping an eye on the people he loves, Baxter just wants to be close to his humans. He is the kind of dog who gives his whole heart to his family. At 8 years old, Baxter still has plenty of playful energy, but he also appreciates the comfort and companionship of a peaceful home. *Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Bruno is a 4 year old heeler mix who loves treats and going for walks. He does fine with other dogs and can be tested with cats upon request.  Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $500 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##2118991##
