Story
Meet Meadows! At just 1 year old, Meadows is a big-hearted, big-wiggling bundle of puppy joy! This handsome boy is a total cuddlebug with his humans and doesn’t believe in half-hearted affection — when he’s happy to see you (which is always), his whole body gets involved. He’s exuberant, playful, and still very much a puppy in the best possible way. Meadows is fully potty trained and crate trained (though he prefers a crate where he can keep an eye on his people — FOMO is real!). He *loves* stuffed toys and is quite the athlete when it comes to catching them mid-air. He’s also great at entertaining himself and enjoys independent play. Outside is his happy place — whether he’s digging epic snow tunnels with his face and paws or proudly offering a double paw sit when he sees the leash come out. On walks, he does well and is friendly when he sees people or other dogs — no barking at all! He may pause to investigate new sounds, but he’s taking it all in and learning every day.  Meadows is wonderful with other dogs for play dates and group walks! However, he's a bit more sensitive to noises and commotion inside the home, so he would prefer to be your only pet. This super sweetheart is looking for a calm, patient family who will continue building his confidence and help him feel safe, loved, and secure. In return, you’ll get endless cuddles, joyful wiggles, and a loyal best friend who gives you both paws (literally and figuratively).  MA License #0092  ##2453139##

Story
**Please read Janis Joplin's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Janis Joplin, a 6-week-old Pointer / Lab / Beagle mix, weighing approx. 5-7 pounds (as of 3/16/26). She and her siblings were born during an ice storm in Tennessee! Luckily, their mom was rescued just days before they were born, so they were delivered in a warm and loving home. Janis is a sweetie pie and the only girl in her litter . Janis is bursting with talent, energy and charisma and will make fans of everyone she meets! \ Since these pups grew up with children at home, they'll do great with the younger fans in case you wanted an autograph for your niece/nephew/adult neighbor who refuses to grow up! They're awesome with other dogs as well. Since they're still puppies, they just want to play with cats, so they might need more help in that category. All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Harper Lee, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] ** This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. Story
Meet Koozie — the beautiful, bright‑spirited girl who’s been waiting so patiently for her forever family 💛 Koozie is a 3‑year‑old, 38‑lb sweetheart with a heart as warm as her smile. She’s wonderfully dog‑friendly and absolutely lights up when she gets to play with canine friends. Whether she’s romping around with a buddy or curling up beside her people, Koozie brings a gentle, joyful energy that’s impossible not to love. This social, active girl would thrive in a home without cats, but she’d be thrilled to have a dog brother or sister to share her days with. She’s the perfect mix of playful and relaxed — she’ll happily join in on adventures, then settle in for quiet time with her humans. Her energy comes in sweet little waves, making her an easy companion for a variety of lifestyles. Koozie has been overlooked for far too long, and we can’t quite understand why. Her unique markings are part of what makes her so special, and anyone who meets her quickly sees how loving and loyal she is. She’s ready to be part of a family’s memories, traditions, and everyday moments.
