Story
Rhianna is a shy, sensitive Sato dog from Puerto Rico who bonds closely with her trusted adults. She enjoys walks, fetch, and relaxing in a calm home. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands (sit, stay, paw, down, bring it, leave it). Rhianna has fear-based aggression as a result of her feral puppyhood. She barks and pulls at other dogs and is not comfortable with unfamiliar people. She has a bite history and cannot live with children under 12. She is not suited for homes with small dogs; a calm large dog may be considered, but a single-dog home is preferred. Ideal Home: Experienced adult household, low-traffic environment, owners comfortable managing fear behaviors. Rhianna will thrive with a patient, knowledgeable adopter who can provide structure, consistency, and a quiet, stable home.

Story
Meet Sundae Sundae is a beautiful, mature girl who is just about to turn 8 years old and weighs around 60 lbs. She has been a loved family dog her entire life and has been well cared for, including regular yearly veterinary checkups (most recently seen by the vet in June).Sundae is affectionate and enjoys being pet and loved, but she does have clear boundaries. She does not do well with rough handling or having her body messed with (ears, tail, etc.). Because of this, she is not a match for homes with babies or toddlers who are still learning how to interact with dogs. She has never shown aggression toward adults or older children who understand and respect a dog’s boundaries. A home with kids around 7 years old or older who can listen and interact appropriately would be just fine. She is friendly with people and has done well around strangers. Sundae has also been around cats, puppies, and small dogs and does well with them, though her ideal home would be one where she can soak up attention as the only pet.Sundae is house trained and was crate trained in the past, but has not used a crate in the last couple of years. She does not chew furniture or belongings. While she isn’t interested in dog toys, she enjoys treats and bones and is very easy in the home.On leash, Sundae generally does well, but she may get excited if she sees another dog or a squirrel. The ideal home for Sundae would be a calm, stable household—preferably an adult couple or individual—with no babies and no other pets, where she can receive plenty of love, attention, and consistency for the rest of her life. She would also do well in a home with respectful, dog-savvy older children.Sundae is currently still living in her home and is safely managed by being kept separate from a toddler. She is free-roaming when appropriate and will remain with her family until the right forever home is found. The goal is not to rush her placement, but to ensure she goes to someone who will truly love her and honor her needs for the rest of her life.Sundae deserves a home where she can finally relax, feel understood, and be cherished.
