Story
Buck is a Pointer mix who was left outside our shelter in the middle of the night on the coldest night of the year. When he was found he was scared and thin. After he warmed up from the frigid temperatures and he began to trust us, his heart is as warm as ever. He loves to be around people. He is dog selective though, so a meeting would be required. Buck loves to run and play in our play yards. No Cats!To apply for this animal please go to our website, www.catskillanimalrescue.com and complete an application. All adoptions include spay/neuter, 1st Distemper shot, all animals over 3 months will have current rabies shot. Dogs will be microchipped.

Story
COOPER'S STORY: Cooper is currently 3 years old and 60lbs.  He was found abandoned and skinny on the side of the road, with a scar on his neck from an embedded collar. While it appears Cooper hasn't had the best life, you would never know it from his appreciative nature and friendly disposition! Cooper loves to "hug" his people for affection, and is a very cuddly dog. He has a bunch of energy and would make a fantastic companion for an active owner. Cooper would be best as an only dog for now until he has time to decompress into a home.  Cooper loves people but since he is so energetic, older or considerate kids would be a better fit for this sweet boy.  He is also house trained, and very well crate trained- He doesn’t make a PEEP! Cooper is fully vaccinated, chipped, and neutered. Cooper's adoption fee is SPONSORED through our Diamonds in the Ruff program. Click here to learn more about our Diamond Dogs. Story
Peggy is a petite girl weighing a whopping 25 lbs! She is approximately 1.5 years old. This gentle girl absolutely loves other dogs; big and small. She is currently being fostered in a sanctuary in south Texas, along the Texas/Mexico border. This amazing sanctuary is only a short term stop for this fur-baby until their forever home is found. Peggy was found in January of 2026 in a cemetery with about 12+ other dogs. She was fending for herself, finding food, water and shelter where and when she could. Peggy was the smallest of the bunch, so she was probably picked on a lot more than the other doggies. She is much calmer than the other dogs at the sanctuary. Peggy likes to play, but she also likes to just sit back and watch everyone else cause trouble. She will run along side of them, with sometimes joining in the rough housing. She likes to ref the other dogs by barking at them playing. Peggy would be great for a calmer household – play in the backyard with another dog and her toys. She is working on her leash training – she is crate trained. Peggy loves playing in the water and laying in the kiddy pool, cooling off. If you want a small doggy to stay by your side, to cuddle with and to enjoy the nice days outside – Peggy is a wonderful choice. Peggy is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm positive (they have received the 30-day course of antibiotics and need to stay on heart worm prevention for 12-16 months and be retested then), current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. PLEASE READ BELOW: To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. Age: 1 year old Located in a foster home in NJ Weight: 46 lbs Vet Record: 100% vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, female Leah believes every walk is a chance to make a new friend! She has an open, confident personality and fits easily into new situations. Leah is house-trained and walks well on a leash. She's used to city life, so traffic, busy streets, and loud noises don't bother her. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and is super playful. She's also fine with cats and would love a home where she has plenty of opportunities for walks, playdates, or trips to the dog park. She would be a wonderful addition to a family with children and would love a home where she can be included in everyday activities. Story
Following the passing of her beloved owner, this sweet dog is seeking a new forever family. Her caretaker has selflessly stepped in during this transition, but her work schedule prevents her from giving her the time she deserves. Originally rescued from a high kill shelter in Georgia, she's looking for a loving home where she can be cherished for the rest of her life. Callie is up to date on his rabies vaccination and flea prevention. She’s very loving and wishes to be a lapdog even though she’s about 27 pounds.
