Story
This beautiful girl showed up last November (2025). She quickly warmed up to us and our two male border collies. She is a ball of energy, loves to play and cuddle. We cannot keep her because our collies fight due to her presence even though they are neutered and she is spayed. She loves to catch frisbee, play ball and stick and she loves to hike. She is wary of strangers and will occasionally growl, but quickly warms up. She will nip at the vet's office when feeling cornered or trapped, but she has not nipped otherwise at strangers or children. Gets along fine with our collies and cat. She needs exercise, a fenced yard and a patient loving owner who understands this highly intelligent, energetic and affectionate breed.

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website. Text (863) 617-8453 or email alaynabrown16@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet.Poppy is a 6-year-old Pointer mix who has tons of energy to run around and play, but also LOVES to snuggle. He’s very smart and eager to learn more, and he’s very food-motivated, making his training even smoother. He also has a quirky personality and is always ready to make someone laugh. He does come from a previously abusive situation before the current house he resides in, with a past history of being attacked by other dogs. He might freeze from time to time if he gets anxious, and he doesn’t particularly like loud noises or voices. Despite this, he is still very friendly with just about everyone and seems to enjoy the presence of other dogs as well as cats. He is up to date on all vaccinations, is neutered, and is also microchipped. He weighed roughly about 56 pounds when he was last weighed a few months ago, but has since put on a couple healthy pounds and is probably closer to 60 pounds. Poppy is a wonderful and sweet boy, who deserves someone with a lot more free time on their hands and yard to run around in. Please help him find his perfect home.My preferred method of contact is text or email, as I work a lot, however, I can call you back if you leave a voicemail. My phone number is (863) 617-8453 and my email is alaynabrown16@gmail.com. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Story
Addie is a well-rounded queen! She loves to play with friends but she can also keep herself entertained. She has proper manners and knows when it's time to chill. She is crate-trained, likes dogs, kids and cats! She's a triple threat!  Addie has a little stranger danger when meeting new people but she warms up pretty quickly.   The best home for Addie would be one with another dog or two; she prefers them to be smaller than her because larger dogs scare her. Cats are no bother, but if there is a daddy in the home, he will need to be patient and provide some of the treats and meals.  She is a little more nervous of men, but food is the way to her heart and after a few days of treats, a daddy is acceptable.  Don't miss out on your chance to meet sweet Addie. Addie is 2 years old, weighs 45 pounds, is up to date on vaccines, spayed, is on monthly flea and heartworm prevention and her adoption fee is $250Apply to meet Addie at mpravl.org All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Story
Meet Litty Age: ~1-2 years.  Breed: Pointer-Heeler? Cookies-and-cream mix? Your guess is as good as ours!Litty is a smart, sweet girl with a big love for treats, humans and outdoor adventures. She's the kind of dog who will happily run around the yard, chew on a favorite toy and then claim the back of the couch as her personal throne. She can be a little shy when meeting new people or animals, but she warms up with time and has done well with dogs, cats and children. Once you're in her circle, you're in for life. With her intelligence, athleticism and eagerness to work for snacks, we think Litty could excel in agility or another fun canine sport. Ideal Home: An active household that can keep her mind and body busy with exercise, training and enrichment. Litty would likely do best as the only dog or with just one calm canine companion, where she can get plenty of attention and space to shine. If you're looking for a loyal, athletic, slightly goofy best friend with a heart of gold, Litty might be your perfect match. She is also house- and crate-trained in her foster home :)Litty is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and started on monthly flea/heartworm prevention.  Her adoption fee is $250 and you can apply to adopt at mpravl.org All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Story
Yeehaw, y’all! 🤠 Saddle up and meet Cowboy! The sweetest little heartthrob this side of the shelter! This handsome fella is a German Shorthair Pointer/Australian Shepherd mix, around 1 year old, and he’s got that perfect mix of zoomies + snuggles! Cowboy is still a young buck, so he’s got plenty of energy to keep life fun, but don’t let that fool you! He’s also super smart and eager to learn! He’s so smart that he has already learned how to sit, stay, lay down, and paw!🥰 Cowboy is a total lover boy who thrives on attention and companionship. He does great with other dogs, especially ones his size, and can hang with smaller pups too — just with a little supervision, as any good cowboy would! Cats? Eh… not really his vibe for now. Kids? Absolutely! He’s ready to be anyone’s best buddy 🐾 This sweet boy has been nothing but amazing with us, and he’s more than ready to ride off into the sunset with his forever family! So, if you’re lookin’ for a loyal sidekick, a cuddle partner, and your new adventure buddy… Cowboy is your PERFECT partner!
