I adopted him from the SPCA of Wake County. He is a very sweet, friendly dog who just wants attention and love. He’s still young, full of energy, and loves to play outside. He does well with people and enjoys being around his family. I’m looking for a home that can give him the time, space, and attention he deserves preferably someone with a yard or an active lifestyle. He would make a great companion for someone who likes walks, playtime, and being outdoors. He is loving, energetic, curious, and very loyal. He just needs a family who can keep up with him and give him the consistency and care he needs.

Ivy was adopted in August 2023 at the Watauga Humane shelterin Boone, NC. She was estimated to be about 8 weeks old when adopted and is some kind of hound/pointer mix. She is a wonderful dog who loves to play and cuddle. She loves going to the dog park and going on long walks and runs. She loves the outdoors and loves to swim and play fetch. She knows commands like sit, stay, lay down, shake, and spin. She has good name recall and is completely potty trained. I unfortunately have allergies to her that progressively got worse as she grew older and I have tried a lot of different treatments, but they still affect me negatively daily. Unfortunately because of this, I have decided to re-home Ivy. I think she would love a yard where she can run around and be free and also be with another dog to have as a friend. She loves to socialize with other dogs and people. She can be a little skittish in loud and chaotic environments, but she is generally calm. She is a really sweet and great dog.

🐾 Meet Brittany Spears! 🐾 This adorable cutie arrived at the shelter as a stray on November 18, 2025, and though no one came to reclaim her, she hasn’t let that dim her sparkle! Now she’s eagerly awaiting her “gotcha day” and the loving family she deserves. At 2 years and 9 months old, Brittany is the perfect blend of youthful energy and sweet companionship. She’s current on her vaccines, healthy, and so excited to meet her new person! Thanks to our Doggie Day Out program, we’ve learned that Miss Brittany is an excellent car buddy—polite, calm, and happy to take in the sights. She enjoys the company of other dogs and absolutely loves spending time with her human friends. Brittany will thrive with an owner who can continue helping her with basic manners and training. She’s smart, eager to learn, and full of potential. She’ll also need a family who can give her plenty of exercise, structure, and lots of love.
