Story
Ellie was adopted from the Winston-Salem Humane Society when she was eight weeks old. She turned 11 in January 2026. Because she is a senior girl, she is looking for a quiet home where she can be the only pet. She is a true people-person who prefers to keep her focus entirely on her human family. She doesn’t care for trips to the dog park or interacting with neighborhood pets, she needs a quiet yard environment, where she doesn’t have to face fence-line barking from neighboring dogs. Ellie is completely house trained, and she loves curling up in a soft spot near you. She also enjoys snuggling in her own bed and can spend hours relaxing and napping! Ellie has an impeccable track record with in-home pet care services. She thrives with a personal caretaker rather than a busy boarding facility. Due to a family separation, her current living situation no longer meets her needs. If you are looking for a gentle, sweet companion, who will love you unconditionally, Ellie is waiting to meet you!

Story
Hi, I’m Magnus. I’m a 2-year-old Pointer/Pit Bull mix with a gentle soul and a sweet, shy nature. I may not be the dog who runs right up to meet everyone, but if you give me a little time and patience, you’ll discover a loyal companion with a heart full of love. New people and unfamiliar situations can make me a bit nervous at first, so I like to take things slow and get to know you at my own pace. Once I feel comfortable, I enjoy being close to my favorite people and soaking up quiet affection. There’s nothing better than knowing I’m safe and loved. I’m looking for a family that understands that trust takes time and is willing to help me build my confidence. With gentle encouragement and a stable home, I know I’ll continue to come out of my shell and show just how wonderful a friend I can be. If you're searching for a kind-hearted dog who will form a special bond with you, I might be your perfect match. Come meet me and see if we're meant to be best friends! I am currently part of the Direct to Adopt Program in Austin, TX. With a committed adopter or foster, I can be transported to The Shelter Pet Adoption Center inside Petco, located at 10017 Biddick Lane, Huntersville, NC 28078. If you’d like more information about me or want to talk about fostering or adopting, please reach out to my team by Email: NCteam@austinpetsalive.org or call: (704) 266-3647.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ridzo is a 5 year old Boxer/Pointer mix, he currently weighs around 50 pounds.   This sweet boy went to the door of one of the gym's in town and begged for help.  They were so incredibly kind and let him inside.  One of their customers took him home and gave him some food and water then called us.  Ridzo has had quite a life story that we will never know about, but he is as sweet as they come.   He tested positive for Lyme disease and Heart worm disease.  He is very underweight and also had hookworms.  He was treated for the hook worms and the Lyme disease but his big hurdle will be the heart worm treatment.  He will need a comfortable place to stay while he rests and the medicine kills all the horrible worms in his heart.  Once he is done with the heart worm treatment he can be neutered and he has a mass on his rear end that will be addressed if needed. Right now he is boarding and everyone is in love with him.  He is so calm and humble and very thankful for the help he's getting.  He does potty outdoors but will sometimes poop in the kennel.  Our guess is he's been outside for a long time and he will need to get used to being an inside dog.  He is great with other dogs and even let a cat sniff his tail.   Please fill out an application if you can foster or even better adopt Ridzo.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 10, 2026, 7:48 pm
